Description and Requirements

Position Summary

Lenovo is seeking a Director of Worldwide Business Planning to define the global strategy, priorities, growth targets, and business framework for the corporate customer segment. This leader will turn customer, market, financial, and product insights into a clear point of view, compelling value propositions, and measurable plans that global teams can activate. The role is accountable for segment growth outcomes and for ensuring the strategy is understood, adopted, and translated into coordinated action across Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance, Services, Operations, and Geography teams. The successful candidate will understand the customer, create a simple and differentiated strategic narrative, define measurable growth outcomes, and align the global organization to adopt and activate the strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the worldwide customer-segment strategy, long-term vision, priorities, and where-to-play/how-to-win choices.
  • Establish the voice of the customer by synthesizing customer needs, market shifts, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities.
  • Translate strategy into business targets, investment recommendations, portfolio implications, and market-facing value propositions.
  • Define KPIs and performance diagnostics across revenue, profitability, share, and customer outcomes; recommend course corrections when needed.
  • Build executive alignment and drive adoption across global functions and geographies, with clear decision rights, success measures, and feedback loops.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning market analysis, strategy, program management, financial planning, and product planning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate customer, market, financial, and product insights into actionable business priorities and growth plans.
  • Experience defining business targets, KPIs, performance frameworks, and measurable growth outcomes.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience connecting strategy to revenue, profitability, market share, and investment decisions.
  • Experience leading business planning, strategy, analytics, finance, product, or program management teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional strategic synthesis and the ability to convert complexity into a clear, executive-ready recommendation.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership executive communication and in a highly matrixed, multi-level organization.
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision-making under ambiguity, with the ability to state assumptions, risks, and decision triggers.
  • Deep customer-centric thinking and the ability to connect strategy to measurable business and financial outcomes.
