Job Description and Requirements

We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have spent years translating business growth into real estate decisions that actually make sense, not just on a spreadsheet but in practice. You know the difference between a portfolio that looks optimized and one that actually supports how people work, and you have built the muscle to get from one to the other without burning political capital or blowing timelines.

You are equally comfortable sitting in a lease negotiation, walking a finance partner through a complex business case, or explaining to a business unit leader why their expansion request needs a different answer. You do not need a perfect brief to move forward. You ask the right questions, surface the tradeoffs early, and build alignment as you go.

M&A does not rattle you. You have been the person in the room during due diligence who can look at a target company's office footprint and quickly assess what stays, what consolidates, and what creates risk if ignored. You think in systems, not just sites. Process friction bothers you, and you fix it.

At Synopsys, you will shape how a global organization thinks about its workplace footprint and you will have the scope and support to do it right.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead enterprise-wide portfolio planning and analysis for lease events, footprint changes, new location requirements, and cost trends across the global Synopsys workplace portfolio
  • Own financial planning and governance for Workplace Resources, including budget development, forecast updates, compliance tracking, and business case process from intake through Finance partnership and approval
  • Serve as the primary Workplace Resources contact during M&A due diligence, delivering timely analysis of office capacity, utilization, lease obligations, and integration strategies that support business continuity
  • Build and maintain operating playbooks, standards, and documentation for facilities operations, portfolio planning, and integration-related workplace efforts
  • Drive process improvement and automation across Centers of Excellence and regional workplace teams to reduce friction, clarify handoffs, and improve execution on portfolio, finance, and M&A initiatives
  • Partner with regional leads, business stakeholders, HR, Finance, and external service providers to translate business priorities into actionable site and portfolio recommendations
  • Monitor progress and surface risks across global workplace initiatives, ensuring consistent delivery and alignment with enterprise objectives

The Impact You Will Have

  • Shape how Synopsys allocates and optimizes its global workplace footprint in support of business growth and operational efficiency
  • Provide the financial rigor and portfolio insight that enables leadership to make confident real estate and workplace investment decisions
  • Accelerate M&A integration timelines by delivering clear, actionable workplace strategies during due diligence and post-close planning
  • Reduce operating cost volatility and improve forecast accuracy through disciplined budget management and lease event planning
  • Strengthen cross-functional collaboration between Workplace Resources, Finance, HR, and business units through clear process, accountability, and shared understanding
  • Build repeatable systems and playbooks that make workplace operations more scalable and less dependent on heroics
  • Enable better workplace experiences for Synopsys employees by ensuring the portfolio evolves in step with how and where teams actually work

What You'll Need

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, real estate, or a comparable field; graduate degree preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate real estate, workplace operations, or related functions within large, complex organizations
  • Demonstrated experience managing global real estate portfolios, operations functions, or finance within an enterprise technology environment
  • Strong working knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, lease accounting, and operating expense management
  • Proven capacity to lead teams, set direction, and drive execution across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Experience serving as a workplace or real estate lead during M&A due diligence and integration
  • Comfort working across geographies, time zones, and organizational boundaries to build alignment and move work forward

Who You Are

  • You can take a messy set of inputs from three business units, two regions, and Finance and turn it into a portfolio recommendation that makes sense and that people will actually support
  • You know how to say no in a way that preserves the relationship and redirects the conversation toward a better solution
  • You do not wait for someone else to fix a broken process; if handoffs are unclear or accountability is missing, you step in and make it work
  • You can explain a lease obligation, a utilization trend, or a capital tradeoff to a senior leader in two minutes without losing the nuance or the business context
  • You are organized enough to manage a global portfolio, an M&A integration, and a budget cycle at the same time without dropping threads
  • You treat workplace operations like a product with users, outcomes, and a roadmap, not just a cost center to manage down

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will report directly to the VP of Workplace Resources and work closely with regional workplace leads, Centers of Excellence, Finance, HR, and business stakeholders across Synopsys. This is a global role supporting enterprise-level portfolio strategy, financial governance, and operational enablement for workplace operations.
