Job Description
The Director, Stablecoin and Digital Assets Risk Intelligence & Strategy will own the long-term vision, strategy, and execution of Visa’s stablecoin and digital-assets risk intelligence capabilities. Reporting to the Senior Director of the Global CSR team, the Director will lead a team of three. The mandate extends beyond managing current processes: this leader will anticipate evolving stablecoin risks, market structures, technologies, and regulatory expectations and build the governance, data, analytical, and decision-support capabilities required to enable responsible growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk strategy and governance. Set the enterprise risk appetite, approval framework, and ongoing monitoring requirements for stablecoin and digital-asset counterparties.
- Portfolio and exposure management. Establish scalable frameworks for settlement limits, concentrations, liquidity, collateral, exceptions, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
- Risk intelligence and executive reporting. Lead forward-looking surveillance and translate financial, regulatory, market, and on-chain signals into actionable insights, escalations, and senior-management reporting.
- Platform and analytics strategy. Own the vision, investment priorities, and roadmap for Visa’s Stablecoin Risk Intelligence Platform, including responsible AI-enabled detection, decision support, reporting, and automation.
- Enterprise operating model. Align senior stakeholders across Treasury, Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Crypto, and CSR on strategic priorities, decision rights, controls, and escalation protocols.
- Regulatory foresight and resilience. Anticipate external developments, advise leaders on risk implications, and ensure readiness for depegs, liquidity disruptions, custody or cyber events, sanctions concerns, and other material incidents.
- Data, model, and control governance. Set standards and accountability for data quality, model performance, explainability, human oversight, access, validation, and control testing across analytical and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Organizational leadership and performance. Build a high-performing team, drive enterprise adoption, and define outcomes and key risk indicators that demonstrate risk reduction, decision quality, operational leverage, and responsible growth.
This position is a Hybrid role to be based in our Foster City, CA office location. Expectations of days in office will be aligned between the selected candidate and hiring manager.
