Job Summary

  • Apply deep understanding of quote-to-to-cash and revenue accounting process coupled with deep knowledge of ASC 606 to assess current revenue related processes including reporting to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Develop and recommend practical process enhancements that align with business goals and optimal future state business processes. 
  • Re-design and optimize processes to improve efficiency and increase automation, leveraging system and reporting functionalities. 
  • Lead the planning, execution and successful implementation of transformation initiatives ensuring cross functional alignment and various steak holders buy in.
  • Collaborate with other relevant departments within the company. 
  • Drive process standardization and harmonization across the entire quote-to-cash domain 
  • Absorb a significant amount of technical information from a variety of inputs to shape and convey policy and process improvement requirements. 
  • Lead continuous process improvement and development of automated systems including enhancements to quote-to-cash and revenue accounting processes. 
  • Develop rapport, credibility and strong relationships across the organization: 
  • Promote ideas and proposals persuasively to build support for company-level decisions. 
  • Collaborate with executives and key stakeholders to understand business priorities. 
  • Communicate recommendations and risks to executive leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with overall business goals. 
  • Provide visionary leadership: 
  • Mentor and develop team members, cultivating a high-performance environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. 
  • Lead teams to address the most critical strategic questions facing Palo Alto Networks, via a combination of structured problem-solving, research and analytics and a deep understanding of the technology sector and Palo Alto Networks context.

Qualifications

  • Accounting / Finance degree (or equivalent experience or equivalent military experience) required, MBA and CPA or equivalent preferred 
  • 15+ years of relevant experience within tech industry, with a combination of experience at a global accounting/consulting practice and industry experience at a top-tier tech company 
  • Deep understanding of revenue operations and accounting (including sound knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls) for an enterprise business for various business models including hardware, marketplace and subscription 
  • Deep Understanding of processes and systems enabling revenue accounting and quote-to-cash, including but not limited to Primary Data Management, Lead Management, Contract Lifecycle Management, Deal Desk, Configure-Price-Quote, Order booking, Invoicing, Collections, Return logistics, Revenue recognition, Close Process & Reporting,
  • Strong expertise in SAP (preferably RAR, BRIM / SD and S/4 HANA) and SFDC (preferably CRM and CPQ)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Hands-on and results oriented leader with problem solving and action oriented mindset 
  • Intellectual curiosity, self-starter and critical thinker 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, changing priorities, timelines, resource skillsets and drive accountability 
  • Passion for continuous optimization of quote-to-cash and revenue accounting processes 

Additional Information

The Team

The team is a fun group of specialists who are responsible for ensuring our consolidated revenue results are complete and accurate with policies, procedures, and systems ensuring compliance with US GAAP, ASC 606, IFRS 15 and other regulatory standards. They work closely with other departments, such as strategy, IT, FP&A, sales operations, legal, investor relations, and product development to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.

$197,400.00 - $270,900.00/yr
