Position Overview

Oracle is seeking an experienced and strategic public relations leader to help shape and advance the company’s external narrative around artificial intelligence, data center development, and cloud infrastructure. As Director, Public Relations – AI and Cloud Infrastructure, you will develop and execute communications strategies that showcase Oracle’s leadership in responsible data center development, strengthen Oracle’s position as a leader in AI and cloud technology, and demonstrate how AI is helping people overcome some of the world’s greatest challenges.

This role requires a sophisticated understanding of the rapidly evolving AI and cloud landscape, expertise in developing stories that highlight the positive economic impact of data center development at the regional and national level, exceptional media relations skills, and the ability to translate complex technologies and business strategies into compelling stories for business, technology, and local audiences.

You will work closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams across Oracle—including product, engineering, marketing, and community relations—to identify opportunities, develop differentiated narratives, and execute high-impact communications programs

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $114,600 to $234,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute local, regional, and national public relations strategies regarding Oracle AI, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Oracle’s data center development initiatives.
  • Shape compelling narratives that differentiate Oracle’s data center development strategy and showcase the positive impact development is having on local communities. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with influential business, technology, AI, and local media.
  • Proactively identify news opportunities, industry trends, and emerging conversations where Oracle can establish or strengthen its voice and leadership position.
  • Partner with executives and subject matter experts to develop messaging, media strategies, thought leadership opportunities, and executive communications.
  • Lead communications for major announcements, strategic initiatives, partnerships, and other significant business developments.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders, including preparation for high-profile interviews, events, announcements, and industry conversations.
  • Monitor competitive activity, media coverage, industry developments, and emerging issues to identify opportunities and potential reputational risks.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across product marketing, product development, social media, events, legal, and other functions to deliver integrated communications programs.
  • Establish clear objectives and measures of success and use insights and results to continuously improve communications strategies and programs.
  • Manage multiple high-profile initiatives simultaneously in a fast-moving environment while exercising strong judgment and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or technology communications, ideally supporting cloud computing, artificial intelligence, enterprise technology, local and environmental issues, or related areas.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic communications programs for complex products, businesses, philanthropic engagements, or social issues.
  • Deep understanding of the technology, business, and regional media landscape, with established relationships and a strong track record of securing meaningful coverage.
  • Strong understanding of AI, cloud infrastructure, and the broader competitive technology landscape, with the ability to quickly develop expertise in emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, messaging, and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex technical subjects accessible and relevant.
  • Experience advising and preparing senior executives for media engagements and other high-visibility communications opportunities.
  • Ability to operate strategically while also executing programs directly in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to navigate sensitive, complex, or rapidly evolving communications situations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
