Micron is seeking a Director to lead the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) organization within the Technology Products Group. This role sits at the intersection of technology innovation, process safety, sustainability, process engineering, facilities systems, supplier engagement, and global manufacturing. The Director will lead a team of domain experts responsible for hazard analysis of new tools, chemistries, and facilities systems, as well as incident investigation and root cause analysis.


The PHA team enables Technology Development by delivering a robust, risk-based process safety program that supports innovation while protecting people, operations, and the environment. The organization also develops process safety practices and standards that can be transferred and scaled across Micron's global manufacturing network.

The Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) organization within Technology Products Group plays a critical role in enabling safe and sustainable technology innovation using AI. We partner across engineering, facilities, EHS, manufacturing, and supplier organizations to assess risk, develop process safety standards, and support the deployment of next-generation technologies. Our team helps ensure that innovation advances responsibly while protecting people, operations, and the environment.

As Director of Process Hazard Analysis, you will provide strategic leadership for a team of process safety experts supporting technology development and global manufacturing. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of semiconductor innovation by building organizational capability, driving operational excellence, and advancing process safety as a competitive advantage across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Process Hazard Analysis organization, including strategy development, workforce planning, budget management, and talent development

  • Deliver a risk-based process safety program that enables the safe deployment of new technologies, tools, chemicals, and facilities systems

  • Drive hazard assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective actions

  • Partner with engineering, facilities, EHS, manufacturing, corporate labs, and suppliers to identify and mitigate process safety risks

  • Collaborate with global manufacturing teams to transfer process safety standards, guidelines, and lessons learned across the enterprise

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field

  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor technology, process engineering, process safety, EHS, facilities systems, or related technical fields

  • Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering results through others

  • Strong program management and organizational leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to translate complex technical topics into business decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical subject area

  • Deep expertise in process hazard analysis, incident investigation, and root cause analysis methodologies

  • Experience advancing sustainability initiatives, including management of process chemical by-products and environmental impacts

  • Demonstrated success influencing across organizations and building strong partnerships with internal and external collaborators

  • Experience applying artificial intelligence tools and data-driven workflows to support risk analysis and accelerate root-cause identification
