Director, People Business Partner
The People & Capability team is seeking a Director, People Business Partner to support Mastercard's North Latin America & Caribbean (North LAC) markets and Regional Business Units portfolios across Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC).
This role requires a highly strategic and commercially minded People Business Partner who can effectively challenge, influence, and advise senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, workforce strategy, and talent decisions. The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen with data-driven insights and executive presence to help leaders navigate growth, organizational change, and evolving business priorities across a highly matrixed and multicultural environment.
This role combines market-level partnership responsibilities with regional business unit support. Approximately 50% of the role will focus on partnering with people leaders across Mexico and North LAC to drive talent outcomes, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership capability, and employee experience.
The remaining 50% will focus on supporting regional business unit portfolios across LAC in partnership with the Vice President, Regional People Business Partner.
As a trusted advisor to leaders, this role will help translate business priorities into people strategies that drive business performance, organizational growth, and talent outcomes. The successful candidate will operate in a highly collaborative, global matrixed environment and work closely with People Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, People Services, and business leaders across the region to deliver impactful people solutions. The scope of support may evolve based on business priorities and organizational needs.
The Role
Partner with leaders to execute people strategies that support business objectives, organizational effectiveness, and team performance across North LAC and assigned Regional Business Unit portfolios.
Provide coaching and guidance on leadership effectiveness, talent development, workforce planning, employee engagement, change management, and organizational design.
Support leaders in building inclusive, high-performing teams aligned with The Mastercard Way.
Deliver key People & Capability processes, including talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, leadership development sessions, workforce planning, and year-end compensation planning.
Advise managers and employees on people and employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, compliant, and employee-centric outcomes.
Use workforce data, employee insights, and market intelligence to identify talent needs and improve engagement, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness.
Collaborate with Centers of Expertise and People Services to implement enterprise programs and contribute to regional and global people initiatives.
All About You
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
Solid experience as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable strategic HR role within a multinational organization.
Proven experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing talent, workforce, and organizational decisions in a complex, matrixed environment.
Strong understanding of talent management, succession planning, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, and change management.
Strong business acumen, consulting, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Enterprise mindset with a track record of collaborating across teams, functions, and geographies.
Demonstrated success supporting leaders across different countries, cultures, and business environments, with the ability to adapt communication and influence styles accordingly.
Strong analytical capabilities with experience leveraging workforce analytics, business metrics, and external market insights to inform organizational and talent decisions.
Willingness and ability to travel across the region as business needs require.
