- Establish engineering practices that promote strong code quality, technical documentation, accountability, and efficient team collaboration
- Identify technical, operational, and delivery risks early and drive mitigation before they impact customers or business objectives
- Coordinate production incident response and strengthen system reliability, uptime, and SLA performance
- Hire and onboard engineering talent while guiding leveling and organizational development decisions
- Communicate engineering progress, risks, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs clearly to Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Partner with the CTO, Product, Leadership, and Customer Success teams to align engineering execution with company and customer needs
- Use metrics, instrumentation, and feedback loops to improve engineering velocity, predictability, and operational performance
Qualifications
- 5+ years of engineering management experience, including direct management of senior or principal-level engineers.

- Demonstrated success in hiring, leveling, mentoring, and developing engineers within a startup or high-growth environment
- Ability to engage credibly in technical design discussions and challenge architectural decisions constructively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts, risks, and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated judgment in balancing product velocity, engineering quality, system reliability, and long-term technical sustainability
