Director, Manager Ecosystem & Integration
Managers are central to Microsoft's success. As their needs evolve alongside AI, business transformation, and new ways of working, Microsoft needs a better way to continuously understand what's changing and where to focus next.
The Manager Excellence & Development team is looking for a Director, Manager Ecosystem & Integration to help build that capability. You'll bring together insights from managers, HR partners, business leaders, and internal teams to understand emerging needs, identify gaps, and shape how Microsoft supports managers at scale. Your work will help create a more connected manager experience and ensure Microsoft's investments remain aligned to what managers need most.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve Microsoft's manager ecosystem strategy to help ensure support for managers remains connected, relevant, and responsive to changing business needs.
- Build and lead a scalable approach for understanding manager needs by connecting insights from managers, HR partners, business leaders, and teams across Microsoft.
- Identify emerging trends, experience gaps, and opportunities across the manager landscape and translate those insights into clear priorities and recommendations.
- Partner across the People Team and business groups to align efforts, strengthen connections across manager investments, and improve the end-to-end manager experience.
- Shape how Microsoft listens, learns, and responds to managers by establishing feedback loops that help inform strategy, planning, and investment decisions.
- Define key manager moments and help drive greater clarity, ownership, and consistency across the manager experience.
- Influence senior leaders and stakeholders to align around priorities, make informed decisions, and accelerate action.
- Lead complex, cross-company initiatives that require systems thinking, strong partnerships, and the ability to create clarity in ambiguous environments.
- Anticipate how changing business priorities, workforce trends, and AI-enabled ways of working will impact managers and help shape Microsoft's response.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Operations, or related field AND 8+ years experience in business program management, strategy, management consulting, organizational effectiveness, human resources, or related disciplines
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shaping strategy and driving outcomes across complex, highly matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrated success influencing senior leaders and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups without direct authority.
- Systems thinking skills with the ability to understand interconnected business challenges, identify patterns, and translate insights into action.
- Experience designing and implementing organizational frameworks, operating models, or engagement approaches that improve effectiveness at scale.
- Experience defining and improving end-to-end employee, manager, customer, or stakeholder experiences across multiple teams and touchpoints.
- Experience leading organizational change, transformation, or large-scale business initiatives.
- Ability to synthesize complex feedback, data, and business context into actionable recommendations and clear strategic direction.
Business Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
