Director, Business Analytics & Insights

We are seeking a Director, Business Analytics & Insights to lead our Planning Analytics and Rapid Analytics functions. This leader will own a team responsible for some of the most critical analytical capabilities supporting the business, including segmentation strategy, Fast Start, quota planning, territory and coverage models, investment optimization, and executive decision support.  In addition to leading planning analytics, this role will build and scale a Rapid Analytics capability designed to deliver high-impact insights at the pace of business. This team will operate as an internal analytics consulting organization, rapidly framing ambiguous business problems, conducting analyses, generating actionable recommendations, and influencing strategic decisions without relying on traditional development cycles. 

The successful candidate will combine exceptional people leadership, analytical rigor, business acumen, and technical understanding. They will partner closely with engineering and platform teams to establish scalable data foundations, semantic models, AI-ready analytical assets, and modern analytics capabilities while developing a high-performing team recognized for speed, innovation, and business impact. 

Planning Analytics Strategy & Leadership

• Define and lead the Planning Analytics vision, strategy, and roadmap across Small, Medium & Corporate (SME&C).
• Lead analytics for Fast Start, segmentation, quota setting, territory and coverage planning, resource allocation, investment optimization, and capacity planning.
• Translate strategic priorities into measurable planning frameworks and recommendations that improve business outcomes.

Rapid Analytics & Business Consulting

• Build and lead a Rapid Analytics capability that delivers timely insights on emerging opportunities, risks, and executive priorities.
• Apply advanced analytics, experimentation, scenario modeling, and hypothesis-driven analysis to complex business challenges.
• Translate evolving or imperfect data into clear, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.

Organizational Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead and develop an organization of analytics specialists, business analysts, data professionals, and people managers.
• Foster an inclusive culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Build capabilities across analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), business storytelling, planning methodologies, and modern data technologies.

Analytics Platform, Data Strategy & AI Readiness

• Partner with Engineering to influence the data architecture, semantic models, and analytics capabilities supporting enterprise planning.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Structured Query Language (SQL), cloud-based data platforms, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable analytics products.
• Establish trusted metrics, business definitions, governance, and data foundations that support self-service analytics, executive reporting, and AI readiness.

Executive Influence & Cross-Functional Partnership

• Build trusted partnerships across Small, Medium & Corporate (SME&C), Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS), Finance, Strategy, Sales Excellence, Operations, and Engineering.
• Influence strategic decisions through data-driven recommendations and executive storytelling.
• Align stakeholders around opportunities, risks, and long-term business outcomes.

Required/minimum qualifications 

• Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 8+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience. 

Additional or preferred qualifications 

• Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 12+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance,Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 15+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience. 

• 5+ years people management experience. 

Business Analytics M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
