This is a general management role with full ownership of the Australian 3P Marketplace. You will lead a cross-functional team spanning account management, program management, and seller operations, owning a significant and rapidly scaling P&L. Your job: grow selection strategically, transform the operating model through AI and automation, and make Amazon.com.au the obvious choice for Australian Sellers. You’ll define the strategy, build the team, and deliver the results — with the autonomy to move fast and the accountability that comes with it.
This role is based in Sydney, Australia and reports into the VP of International Seller Services.

Key job responsibilities
Growth & Strategy
  • Strategy & Vision: Define and own the 3P Marketplace strategy for Australia. Set the ambition, align stakeholders, and make the hard trade-offs between selection breadth, Seller quality, and speed to market.
  • Selection & Seller Acquisition: Strategically grow the Australian catalogue by recruiting high-value Selling Partners and driving adoption of FBA, Advertising, Brand Registry, and other key programs. Turn Australia into a destination marketplace for top local and international brands.
  • P&L Ownership: Own a complex P&L end-to-end. Drive sustainable, profitable growth while balancing investment in long-term capability building.
  • Negotiations & Partnerships: Personally lead negotiations with top Australian and international brands to bring them onto the platform as 3P Sellers.
Transformation & Innovation
  • AI & Automation: Lead the transformation of the Australia 3P organization to be AI-first — automating Seller queries, operational reporting, WBRs/QBRs, and decision-making based on Seller performance, inputs, and cost to serve. Set the standard for what a modern marketplace team looks like.
  • Seller Experience (SX): Reimagine the end-to-end Seller journey — from onboarding to listing to account health — removing friction and building tools that let Sellers scale without hand-holding.
  • Customer Experience (CX): Raise the bar on what 3P Sellers deliver to customers: faster delivery, better product quality, seamless returns. Close the gap between 1P and 3P experience.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with regional and global teams (Retail, Product, Technology, Operations) to co-develop programs, influence product roadmaps, and scale what works beyond Australia.
People & Influence
  • Team Leadership: Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team of account managers and program managers. Set a high bar for talent, coach leaders, and create an environment where people do their best work.
  • PR & Public Policy: Be the external voice of Amazon’s marketplace in Australia — championing the story that Amazon empowers small- and medium-sized businesses to grow and reach more customers.
About the team
Since 1994, Amazon has continuously expanded its product selection and innovated on behalf of customers in an ongoing effort to fulfill its stated ambition of being earth’s most customer-centric company. By giving customers more of what they want — low prices, vast selection, and convenience — we continue to grow and evolve as a world-class e-commerce platform.

Amazon’s Third-Party (3P) Marketplace plays a critical role in this mission by enabling every trustworthy Seller to provide the best customer experience and grow successfully.
