In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is implementing the European safety standards “European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 1”. Spanning 950 km, this project is part of the broader Egypt National Railways Projects and aims to enhance the safety standards, increase the number of passenger trains, and boost freight capacity.
Today, we are recruiting for a Digital Site Survey Analysis Working Student to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What are my responsibilities?
- Review and validate digital site survey data for railway infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy against engineering requirements and design standards.
- Analyze survey deliverables and identify discrepancies between surveyed site conditions and existing design documentation.
- Update and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD in alignment with project specifications.
- Support the preparation of signaling design inputs and contribute to the development of technical documentation for interlocking solutions.
- Collaborate with experienced signaling engineers and survey teams to resolve data-related issues and ensure project continuity.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining engineering records, databases, and project documentation to support efficient project delivery.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrate solid working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Apply strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail in reviewing complex engineering data.
- Utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and reporting tasks.
- Communicate effectively in English within a multicultural, international engineering environment.
- Possess a basic understanding of railway signaling systems, interlocking principles, and railway infrastructure elements such as tracks, switches, signals, and routes — considered a plus.
