Digital Manufacturing Engineer (Software RM) - m/f/d
Join Siemens, s.r.o. and step into the heart of our digital delivery chain! While many manufacturing roles at Siemens focus on physical products, this position brings those same high standards and engineering principles to the digital world. As our new Digital Manufacturing Engineer (Software Release Management), your "production floor" is a sophisticated digital environment. You will be the vital bridge between IT systems and the final software delivery process, ensuring our digital products reach customers reliably.
What will your main responsibilities be?
- Operating and supporting FELIX, our MES (Manufacturing Execution System), used to create software packages, licenses, and serial numbers.
- Ensuring the "digital supply chain" works perfectly—from the moment a software license is generated to its final delivery to the customer.
- Managing license integration via Data Warehouse (DWH) and configuring digital label layouts and serialization data.
- Coordinating software production activities across multiple global Siemens sites.
- Leading the technical introduction of new software products into the manufacturing process (ensuring the system knows how to "build" them).
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within a complex conglomerate of IT tools to prevent any delivery delays.
What do we expect from you?
- Mandatory: Prior experience with a production tool or MES. Whether you come from a physical factory or a digital one, you must understand how production data flows (we will teach you the specifics of our internal tools, but the core principles must be there).
- A strong technical mindset—you enjoy figuring out how different IT systems (ERP, MES, DWH) talk to each other.
- Analytical thinking—when a license isn't generated, you are the one who finds out why and fixes it.
- Ability to act as a "translator" between the IT world and the business/delivery operations.
- Communicative English for daily collaboration with our international teams. English is our primary language. German language is a plus.
- Ability & willingness to travel to customer’s site (occasional business trips to Erlangen, DE)
What we will teach you (Skills to be Learned On the Job):
We don't expect you to know our internal tools from day one. We are ready to support your growth and help you master the following within your first months:
- FELIX MES Mastery: In-depth training on our proprietary production tool, its configuration, and operational logic.
- Siemens License & Serialization Logic: Understanding how we manage unique IDs and license integration via Data Warehouse (DWH).
- Global Delivery Coordination: Learning the specific workflows for coordinating software production across our international sites.
- Label & Layout Configuration: Mastering the technical setup for printer layouts and delivery data standards.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Process: Learning how to technically onboard new software products into the manufacturing chain.
- Complex System Troubleshooting: Navigating our specific tool conglomerate to resolve delivery-impacting issues and maintain data integrity.
What Siemens offers you beyond great career opportunities:
- More time to rest: Up to 33 days of vacation (5 weeks of holiday + up to 8 extra days from the benefits budget).
- Flexibility and home office: Flexible working hours and the ability to work from home (3 days/ week), with a contribution towards expenses.
- Individual benefits budget: Personal budget of at least CZK 34,000 for finance, wellbeing, and health.
- My finance: Contributions towards pension/life insurance and an Employee Stock Ownership plan.
- My wellbeing: Cafeteria system, meal e-vouchers, and company nurseries in Prague and Ostrava.
- My health: Discounted MultiSport card and access to premium healthcare.
