We are looking for engineering students to join the Digital Industries Automation Internship Program - Sales Track. This position will be based at one of our DI Automation hubs, including but not limited to Alpharetta, GA; Elk Grove Village, IL; Harleysville, PA; and Lebanon, OH.

This is a 12-week summer internship program (May 17, 2026 – August 6, 2027) that is designed to help you develop critical B2B sales skills, gain a deep understanding of our go-to-market strategies in the industrial automation sector, and contribute to real business outcomes. This internship will prepare you for a potential opportunity with our full-time 18-month Automation Genesis development program or other entry-level sales roles after graduation.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Embedding in one of our high-performance Vertical, OEM, Solution Partner, Inside Sales, or E-Commerce sales teams, shadowing experienced sales professionals, and building relationships with internal and external industrial partners
  • Learning about our Digital Industries Automation portfolio and developing customer-facing presentations and proposals by translating technical and engineering concepts into clear, compelling value-driven solutions.
  • Supporting sales activities, participating in team meetings and sales strategy discussions, as well as using CRMs and sales enablement tools to track opportunities, analyze pipeline activity, and support account development efforts
  • Researching customers and industries and documenting customer needs, business challenges, and buying behaviors
  • Using your aptitude for problem-solving skills and fresh perspective to identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and optimize sales processes, and leverage new technologies and AI-driven solutions

Eligibility Requirement:

This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career/ Leadership Development opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's students pursuing a degree in: Industrial Distribution, Industrial/Industrial Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Business (with a technical concentration) or related disciplines
  • Available to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from May 17 to August 6
  • Interest in pursuing a long-term career in technical sales, account development, or business development
  • Customer-focused mindset with an interest in understanding business challenges and helping connect customers with technical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, build credibility, collaborate with others, and communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences in customer-facing and internal team environments
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, organized, with strong time management skills
  • Coursework or interest in manufacturing systems, production processes, or Industry 4.0
  • Must be willing and able to relocate to any of our DI Automation hubs for the summer. Location is assigned based on business needs, and relocation assistance is provided if you are required to relocate more than 50 miles from your permanent residence.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% for customer visits, job shadows, trade shows, and training events, and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship, co-op, or case competitions related to sales, business development, or customer-facing engineering environments
  • Leadership roles in student organizations, athletics, military service, or community involvement
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, data visualization and analytics tools, or business-to-business processes
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

You’ll Benefit From
The hourly pay range for this position is $28.00 per hour for first time Interns or $29.00 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
