To make electronics, you need chips, wafers, transistors, reticles, and... To make these, you must see, test and manufacture them at scale—faster and better than ever before. That's where KLA comes in. Whether you're early in your career or an experienced professional, you'll solve complex challenges, work alongside brilliant minds and help shape the future of technology.

Group/Division

KLA's Global Supply Chain (GSC) oversees sourcing, supplier contracting and management, materials management, direct and indirect procurement, and logistics and trade compliance. GSC leads activities to establish and manage an innovative, reliable, efficient, effective and compliant global supply chain and logistics structure that strengthens KLA's competitive advantage.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

Your Opportunity

As Director – Design for Logistics, you will shape how semiconductor tools and parts move around the world.  You will lead KLA’s enterprise-wide effort to make logistics a design priority—not an afterthought. You will embed logistics requirements into product, packaging, and business process design, from early concepts through the Product Lifecycle (PLC) and operational decision-making. Partnering with Product Development, Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics (Warehousing & Freight), Manufacturing Operations, and Trade Operations, you will shape how our tools and parts are packaged, stored, and transported. Your focus: lower costs, greater sustainability, faster delivery, and a better customer experience.

What You’ll Lead

  • Set the global direction. Develop and own the Design for Logistics (DfL) framework, standards, and governance model. Institutionalize logistics considerations in Product Development and Business Process Design, partnering with PLC owners to embed requirements in phase-gate reviews.
  • Design for efficient, resilient logistics. Define principles for packaging, palletization, cube efficiency, transportation modes, and storage. Challenge designs that constrain transportation efficiency, modal flexibility, or storage utilization. Establish guidelines for multimodal transport, warehouse automation compatibility, and damage prevention.
  • Turn analysis into priorities. Conduct a holistic Package Lifecycle Assessment (PLA) to identify opportunities across cost, emissions, space utilization, damage reduction, and recyclability. Use Pareto analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, and cube optimization to prioritize the highest-value improvements.
  • Deliver measurable business impact. Build dashboards, KPIs, and analytics to track packaging, transportation, and handling performance. Reduce transportation and storage costs through better cube utilization and packaging optimization, and strengthen supply chain resilience through packaging versatility and modal flexibility.
  • Build alignment and lasting capability. Bring packaging engineering, suppliers, and logistics teams together to deliver feasible, scalable designs. Lead training, playbook development, and best-practice sharing across design, engineering, and logistics teams.

What You’ll Bring — Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 12–15+ years of experience in logistics, packaging engineering, supply chain design, or product development.
  • Strong understanding of KLA OS and the PLC process strongly preferred
  • Proven leadership in Design for Logistics, packaging optimization, or Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of global transportation networks, warehousing operations, packaging materials, and automation environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional change and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor equipment products and tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (approximately 20%).
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value.

How You’ll Lead — Demonstrated Competencies

  • Drive vision and purpose.
  • Build high-performing teams.
  • Exemplify KLA values.
  • Apply systems thinking and end-to-end supply chain understanding.
  • Influence strategically and lead across functions.
  • Make data-driven decisions.
  • Bring packaging, material science, and engineering literacy.
  • Communicate clearly, tell compelling stories, and engage executives.
  • Lead change management and organizational development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Level Degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience OR
  • Master's Level Degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
