The Amazon logistics Design Engineering team is seeking a versatile, solutions-oriented Design Engineer to drive new automation initiatives and develop the next generation of world-class industrial building designs. This is an exciting opportunity to tackle complex challenges with creative problem-solving.
In this role, you will focus on integrating automation and robotics solutions into the design of warehouses and delivery centers. You will apply strong analytical skills to evaluate design options, optimize performance, and ensure the successful implementation of design projects. The role includes close collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and develop simulation models to support strategic decision-making.
We seek resourceful engineers who are critical thinkers and excel at cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our delivery stations. You will be part of a team of highly skilled and engaged engineers in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment.
Key job responsibilities
A typical day involves working in CAD software to create and refine delivery station layouts. You'll analyze high-level demand projections to inform design decisions, ensuring future scalability. Collaborating with operations teams, you'll translate workflow needs into practical designs. Expect to participate in design review meetings, coordinate with architects and civil engineers on detail drawings, troubleshoot design challenges, and conduct capacity analyses to meet operational goals and deadlines.
