It’s not just about improving buildings – it’s about creating efficient, safe, adaptable and sustainable environments, which improve the way the world lives and works.

Within our Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings (SI B) business, our diverse global team will support you through your career and challenge you to grow in new and exciting ways, as we transform the world’s infrastructure.

About the Role

Do you enjoy understanding how data works, solving complex problems, and connecting technical depth with business impact?

We are looking for a Data Governance Specialist to join our SI B Data Governance team in Zug. Our team leads the implementation of the Siemens Data Governance Framework for Siemens SI B and helps establish the trusted data foundation for data-driven business decisions.

At our core, we are data professionals with a computer science mindset. We understand how data is generated, structured, integrated, and used across business processes and products. We approach challenges analytically, investigate root causes, and look for practical, scalable solutions.

We see data governance at the intersection of computer science and business - not as a bureaucratic process. Our aim is to make data more accessible, reliable, and usable. What makes our team distinctive is the combination of this technical foundation with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders.

In this role, you will discuss data requirements and trade-offs with technical teams, work with business partners to understand their priorities, and translate complex topics into recommendations for senior decision-makers. You will have the autonomy to shape and execute initiatives in data quality, data product enablement, data foundation building, and strategy - bridging technical expertise, practical execution, and business value.

Your Responsibilities

Data Quality & Process Improvement

  • Support and drive the set-up of the data quality remediation mechanism in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders (business, technical teams, and process owners)
  • Ensure the implementation of quality metrics in alignment with business processes

Data Product Enablement & Standardisation

  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure data products meet mandatory quality and compliance requirements before release on the Siemens Data Cloud (SDC)
  • Embed these requirements into development and release processes, driving the automation of release-readiness checks within the Definition of Done (DoD) to reduce manual effort and support consistent delivery

Business Partnership & Demand Management

  • Drive workshops with business and data domain stakeholders to understand their objectives, clarify data needs, and translate them into structured requirements for data products
  • Partner with Data Domain Coordinators to turn the SI B Data Domain Vision into prioritised initiatives and backlogs, balancing business value, dependencies, and technical feasibility

Strategic Research

  • Conduct continuous market research on best practices in data management, quality, and governance. Translate external innovations into actionable, strategic recommendations to expand the capabilities and maturity of SI B Data Governance

What We Offer

  • Ownership and autonomy: Shape new initiatives and lead them from concept to implementation, with room to challenge existing approaches and introduce better solutions
  • Meaningful business impact: Help improve the data foundation behind SI B’s data products and business decisions
  • Technical and strategic development: Broaden your expertise through close mentoring and work spanning data governance, data quality, and data product enablement
  • Cross-functional exposure: Collaborate with business and technical teams across SI B, with regular opportunities to engage senior stakeholders
  • A collaborative team: Join data professionals who value technical understanding, practical delivery, curiosity, and innovation

Your Profile

  • University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Management & Technology, or a related field
  • Three years of practical experience in the data space (e.g. data governance, data quality, data science, data management)
  • At least one year of experience working on strategic topics (e.g. data strategy, organizational transformation, digital transformation, innovation, market strategy)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, understand business processes, and translate business needs into data requirements and priorities
  • Ability to take ownership of initiatives and influence stakeholders across business and technical teams
  • Fluency in English; German is a strong plus
