The Internship assignment:

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer Intern for General Assembly Shop. As a Data Engineer Intern, you'll collaborate with our data team to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure. Interact with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and address complex data issues.

Responsibilities

Document dashboards and data processing in General Assembly. 
Support data validation, monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure reliable data flows. 
Interact with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and address complex data issues. 
Ability to work with complex data sets in fast paced environment. 
Assist in developing and optimizing ETL. Participate in code reviews to understand collaborative development. 
Strong ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis 
Collect, clean, preprocess, and analyse datasets to prepare for evaluation. 
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data. 
Support on back-end and front-end development. 
Experience with AI tools and models.

Requirements

Typically pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related field. 
Strong knowledge of SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) 
Strong prompting skills.
Familiarity with programming languages like Python; experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) is a plus. 
Jira and Confluence knowledge. 
Experience in version controlling (GitHub) 
Splunk knowledge is a plus. 
Fluent in English.
