Description
Apple Ads Team is seeking a Software Engineer with a passion for data engineering and building large-scale data pipelines. We are looking for someone who is eager to build high-performing, scalable, well-designed back-end systems that are the foundation for critical internal and customer-facing platforms at Apple.
Responsibilities
- Apple Ads Engineering team is a diverse, global, agile engineering team that moves smart and fast by consuming and optimizing readily available technology. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of robust big data pipelines, helping ensure efficient data exposure to consumers. This role calls for a passion for learning and applying data technologies to elevate our platform. You'll work closely with senior engineers and diverse stakeholders, building your ability to communicate data concepts clearly. You will take ownership of well-scoped projects and features end to end, growing into broader technical ownership over time. Minimum Qualifications
- 3-10 years of experience in software development in a Java/Linux environment, including hands-on experience building data services or pipelines
- Proficient in Data Engineering concepts across batch and/or streaming
- Solid hands-on experience with Spark or similar distributed data processing frameworks
- Strong programming skills in Java or Scala
- Experience with Cloud Services like EKS, Kubernetes, etc.
- Ability to automate manual tasks to achieve efficiency
- Experience with one or more databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, Snowflake, Cassandra, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical multi-functional teams
- A desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging work environment
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Exposure to Flink or other stream-processing frameworks
- Exposure to building Pub/Sub mechanisms for message flow
- Exposure to applied machine learning, analytics, or business intelligence is a plus
- Commitment to developing high-quality software and products
- Curiosity to explore and understand data is a strong plus
