Data Collection Associate Manager, Optimus

Description

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Data Collection Associate Manager, Optimus to lead dual-shift operations for the data collection organization supporting Optimus development. In this role you will oversee Data Collection Supervisors, drive operational excellence through lean principles, and ensure the team delivers high-quality data at scale while putting people safety first. 

You will track and improve daily, weekly, and quarterly metrics; develop leaders; partner cross-functionally with engineering and equipment teams; and maintain robust training and information flow so operators, leads, and supervisors succeed across shifts. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement, people development, and alignment to Tesla’s evolving priorities. 

Responsibilities

• Lead dual-shift operations of Data Collection Supervisors and Data Collection program
• Track daily, weekly, and quarterly metrics and assign improvement teams to drive results to goal 
• Develop management teams to apply lean manufacturing principles that increase efficiency while scaling operations 
• Set and drive leadership syncs to align the organization with company targets and evolving priorities 
• Ensure full alignment with EHS for all collection operations, placing people safety at the forefront 
• Establish supervisor development and career growth plans with monthly (minimum) 1:1s; ensure operators, leads, and supervisors have the training, documentation, and information pipelines needed for success and cross-shift uniformity 
• Partner with engineering and equipment teams on root-cause analysis of top blockers and oversee supervisor administrative work (time cards, overtime, meal penalty prevention, and HR/safety documentation with corrective actions) 

Requirements

• Proven experience leading supervisors or multi-shift teams in manufacturing, operations, or data-collection environments 
• Demonstrated ability to develop people leaders through coaching, career planning, and regular 1:1s 
• Strong track record applying lean manufacturing or continuous-improvement principles to drive efficiency and scale 
• Experience tracking and improving operational metrics and leading cross-functional problem-solving 
• Commitment to EHS standards with people safety as the top priority 
• Strong organizational skills covering timekeeping, overtime, and compliance processes 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to partner effectively with engineering, equipment, and other teams in a fast-paced environment

Expected Compensation

$92,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
