Data Application Engineer

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. Responsibilities

• Write clear, modular, well-structured, and self-sustaining codes, and develop overall systems design, research, and evaluate vendor supplied applications, and develop recommendations on those applications.
• Build internal solutions, with custom front-end and back-end services with minimal assistance, and identify processes and solutions to ensure control compliance can be enforced and monitored.
• Help design, build, and deploy internal business applications to support Google’s technology lifecycle, collaboration and spaces, service delivery management, and data and business intelligence.
• Conduct and oversee testing of application modules to ensure application meets specifications and collaborate with analysts and business process owners within one or more teams to help translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience working with Java or Python, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools.
• 4 years of experience in process improvement, systems integration, or change management.
• Experience with coding, data management, data analytics.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in working with business stakeholders for requirement analysis and converting them to technical requirements.
• Hands-on experience successfully building software for large-scale database systems using Big Data, Relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Solid foundation in design, data structures, and algorithms.
