Customer Quality Technician
The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
As a Customer Quality Technician, you will play a central role in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of customer complaints and quality returns. You will coordinate the physical handling, tracking, and documentation of complaint materials moving through the Failure Analysis (FA) process.
Working in close partnership with Customer Quality Engineers (CQEs), the Shipping Department, and the FA Lab, you will ensure returned devices are accurately inspected, logged, analyzed, and returned to customers on time.
What You Will Do
- Complaint Intake & Physical Inspection: Receive incoming customer complaint packages from Shipping; inspect returned electronic devices and packaging under a microscope, verify device markings, and cross-check documentation for accuracy.
- Failure Analysis (FA) Coordination: Log incoming complaints into the Quality Management tracking database and coordinate with CQEs to prepare and submit complete device packages to the FA Lab for evaluation.
- Shipping & Material Logistics: Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipping requests for complaint materials being returned to customers or transferred to other global Allegro sites; follow up with Shipping to ensure timely delivery.
- Customer Reporting & Portal Support: Assist CQEs by uploading 8D failure analysis reports, certificates, and quality documentation to customer-specific portals.
- Data & Presentation Support: Extract basic complaint metrics and data from internal databases to assist engineers with customer meeting decks, trend charts, and management review presentations.
- Records Management & Confidentiality: Maintain organized records throughout the investigation lifecycle and ensure closed complaint records are archived properly in compliance with document retention standards.
What You Will Bring
- Associate degree in a technical or related discipline or 2+ years of experience in quality control, electronic manufacturing, logistics/shipping, laboratory support, or technical administration.
- Comfortable handling small semiconductor/electronic components, with the visual acuity to inspect small-font device markings under a microscope.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to navigate internal quality databases and customer web portals.
- High level of accuracy, organizational skills, and discipline in following standardized quality procedures.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams (One Allegro mindset).
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or ETQ Reliance).
- Basic exposure to standard quality methodologies (such as 8D reporting or RMA processing).
