Customer Engineer, Google Cloud Security

You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.
As a Customer Engineer for Security, you will utilize both technical aptitude and communication skills to address trust during frequent engagements with customers. You will periodically serve as a Google representative when liaising with regulators and the public as it relates to Google Cloud solutions. You will help us grow our cybersecurity business by building and expanding relationships with customers. You will be a trusted advisor to customers and an advocate for our security solutions, providing support to c-level, security leaders, architects, and analysts to lead projects forward. You'll accompany customers in discovering the technology/solution and consult around the best way to secure and ensure compliance. You'll optimize for results when in production, leading with empathy, while identifying innovative ways to multiply the impact of the team.

Responsibilities
- Build partner specific, go-to-market solutions to reduce business cycles and drive partner business as measured through pipeline and business growth.
- Own the technical relationship with partners, empowering them to drive a successful pilot or proof-of-concept, support partners drive toward customer acceptance of the technical proposal, leading to an agreement, and work with partners during the migration phase to assure they have all the tools necessary to deliver a successful deployment.
- Build trusted advisory relationships and make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in a technical sales engineering role in security or cloud native environments.
- Experience in cybersecurity (e.g., threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems).
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Certification in the Cloud or Security industry.
- Experience implementing security solutions for enterprises (e.g. threat detection and hunting, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems).
- Experience working with, evaluating, or securing AI agents, Generative AI models, or LLM-driven applications in an enterprise context.
- Knowledge of broad product and solution of market trends in the cybersecurity industry (e.g., ransomware, attack frameworks, zero trust, etc.).
- Ability to communicate publicly and deliver compelling technical presentations.
