Description and Requirements

Position Overview

Lead a small team to provide trade legal support to Global Supply Chain (GSC) and manufacturing plants, Vehicle Computing (VC) and Chief Technology Office (CTO) organization in China.

Position Description

  • Support compliance-related initiatives pertaining to Lenovo and its affiliates, including but not limited to developing and implementing trade compliance controls, and conducting compliance risk assessments.
  • Assist to provide tariff legal advisory to GSC and manufacturing plants in China.
  • Provide export control, sanctions, and relevant trade legal support to VC and CTO.
  • Provide business with regulatory updates relating to trade and sanctions and conduct impact analysis on business operations.
  • Provide IT recommendations on how to automate compliance checking and streamline processes. 

Position Requirement

  • Knowledgeable of tariff requirements and export control laws of U.S. and mainland China.
  • Ability and willingness to proactively identifies and solves complex problems, thinking beyond existing solutions and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain and present complex legal advice for senior executives, and ability to gain the trust of business stakeholders to achieve a desired objective.
  • Ability to deliver outstanding written work-product quality.

Job Requirement - Prior Work Experience

  • 8 years of work experience in legal/compliance area, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in advising multinational businesses on trade compliance and export control matters.
  • ITC industry experience is required.
  • Law firm or Consulting Firm experience is a plus but not a must.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English.
     

Educational Requirement:

Juris Doctor (JD) in U.S or other common law jurisdictions or a Law Degree in China with a LLM in common law jurisdictions.
