Join Amazon's Legal Department as a Corporate Counsel supporting Amazon Web Services, where you'll negotiate strategic enterprise agreements and provide legal guidance that directly enables cloud computing innovation across the Americas. You'll work at the intersection of law and technology, helping shape how organizations adopt AI and cloud infrastructure while building trusted partnerships with enterprise clients and government entities.

Key job responsibilities
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize strategic enterprise agreements and contracts with enterprise clients, government entities, and partners, ranging from standard transactions to complex, high-value deals
  • Provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to senior executives and business team members across Sales, Marketing, and Business Development functions
  • Support public sector business initiatives by advising on government procurement processes, Requests for Proposal, and compliance considerations
  • Administer and resolve legal issues arising within existing commercial relationships, including pre-litigation disputes and inquiries
  • Participate in broader Amazon legal projects as assigned, collaborating with other legal teams and business units
A day in the life
As a Corporate Counsel supporting AWS Sales, Marketing, and Business Development, your focus centers on enabling strategic partnerships through thoughtful legal guidance. You might start your day meeting with client teams to discuss upcoming public sector engagements, then shift to reviewing Requests for Proposal materials and advising on procurement considerations. You'll draft and negotiate contracts ranging from standard agreements to complex, high-value deals, then join business leaders to discuss an important initiative. Throughout your day, you'll interpret contracts for senior executives, provide counsel on legal matters within existing commercial relationships, and help resolve pre-litigation disputes. Your work spans the Americas and may occasionally extend to other regions, connecting you with diverse teams and business challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent
  • 5+ years of Public Sector Law experience
  • Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
