Corporate Counsel
Provide legal support and contract negotiations for Procurement matters across the JAPAC and U.S. regions. In this role, you will partner with Procurement contracting and other cross-functional Legal teams, with primary responsibility for advising on Procurement-related legal matters and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements with suppliers, while mitigating legal and business risk, driving business need, and ensuring adherence with corporate policies in a challenging, dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BA/BS degree or related experience and 8 plus years relevant legal experience. Completed law degree and member of bar association in relevant jurisdictions. Excellent legal skills and business judgment in areas of responsibility. Proficient writing skills.Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts for the procurement of goods and services, including AI-enabled technology, facilities services, meetings and events, marketing and professional services for the JAPAC and U.S. regions.
- Work closely with the Procurement contracting team in JAPAC and the U.S. to advise on contractual, legal, and business risks and recommend appropriate risk-mitigation strategies.
- Partner with subject matter experts on cross-functional issues as needed, such as Privacy, Security, Corporate legal and local legal teams.
- Ad hoc projects, including process improvement, playbook, negotiation guidelines to improve consistency and contracting efficiency.
What You'll Need
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal advice.
- Ability to distinguish material legal risks from lower-risk issues and focus negotiations accordingly.
- Comfortable working across regions and different time zones including JAPAC, U.S., EMEA.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and succinctly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ownership of matters from initial engagement through contract execution.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a global legal organization while exercising sound independent judgment.
