Meta's Reality Labs organization is building the future of augmented and virtual reality, developing cutting-edge wearable devices including VR headsets, AR glasses, and mixed reality platforms. The Contract Manufacturing Sourcing team is seeking a principal-level leader to own and drive the end-to-end contract manufacturing strategy for Reality Labs hardware products. In this role, you will define and execute sourcing strategies across a complex global contract manufacturing supply base, partnering with engineering, operations, and supplier executives to ensure Meta's wearable and spatial computing devices are manufactured at scale with the quality, cost, and supply resilience required to lead the market.

Responsibilities

Define and own the long-term contract manufacturing sourcing strategy for Reality Labs wearable and spatial computing hardware, including VR headsets, AR glasses, and mixed reality devices Identify, qualify, and develop contract manufacturing partners capable of supporting the unique complexity of consumer wearable electronics at scale Lead executive-level negotiations with contract manufacturing partners on pricing, capacity commitments, tooling investments, and long-term supply agreements Drive total cost of ownership improvements across the contract manufacturing supply base through should-cost modeling, competitive benchmarking, and structured negotiation Partner with hardware engineering, industrial design, and product operations teams to influence design-for-manufacturability decisions that improve yield, cost, and supply flexibility Establish and govern supplier performance frameworks including capacity planning, quality metrics, delivery performance, and continuous improvement programs Develop and maintain multi-generational sourcing roadmaps aligned to Reality Labs hardware product roadmaps, ensuring supply base readiness for new product introductions Manage supply risk across the contract manufacturing portfolio by identifying single points of failure and driving dual-source or alternative supplier strategies Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to other sourcing professionals on the team, elevating the overall capability of the contract manufacturing sourcing function Represent the contract manufacturing sourcing function in cross-functional leadership forums, communicating supply strategy, risk posture, and investment recommendations to executive stakeholders

Qualifications

12+ years of experience in contract manufacturing sourcing, supply chain management, or operations within the consumer electronics, wearables, or hardware technology industry Experience leading complex, multi-generational contract manufacturing negotiations including pricing, capacity, tooling, and long-term supply agreements with global EMS or ODM partners Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies for high-complexity consumer hardware products involving precision mechanical, optical, or electronic assembly Experience influencing executive-level decisions across internal and external stakeholders in ambiguous, cross-functional environments requiring independent judgment Experience with total cost of ownership modeling, should-cost analysis, and competitive benchmarking in a contract manufacturing context Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Experience sourcing contract manufacturing for wearable devices, AR/VR hardware, or other miniaturized consumer electronics with high precision assembly requirements Experience managing new product introduction processes in partnership with contract manufacturing partners, including ramp readiness, yield improvement, and capacity qualification Familiarity with optical, display, or sensor assembly processes relevant to augmented and virtual reality hardware platforms Experience building and scaling a contract manufacturing sourcing function or center of excellence within a high-growth hardware organization

Compensation: $179,000/year to $249,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
