Construction Manager

Amazon Web Services•Published 5 hours ago•First seen 1 hours ago
Amazon's Data Center Construction Manager (CM) supports the delivery of hyperscale data center projects from feasibility through commissioning handover — contributing to scope, schedule, and budget management across new builds and capital upgrades in the Greater Kanto region. Amazon designs and procures its most advanced infrastructure in-house and builds data centers purpose-built for our own servers. As part of a dedicated, self-perform construction team, you will operate in a global environment, developing hands-on expertise across the critical infrastructure chain: HV substations, fiber, generators, switchgear, UPS, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, and servers. Working under the guidance of senior Construction Managers, you will help hold general contractors (GCs) accountable to quality standards and support efforts to maintain schedule without sacrificing safety or resilience. Once construction is complete, you will support the facility's transition to the commissioning team through to handover. You will work within a high-velocity, multi-disciplinary team — owning defined project areas end-to-end while building your technical foundation across the broader program.

Deliver:
  • Support full-lifecycle project delivery for assigned areas or work packages
  • Help manage scope, cost, schedule, and quality for new-build and capital projects under senior CM guidance
  • Monitor day-to-day contractor performance, quality, and safety compliance on site — travel to project sites for audits, constructability reviews, and commissioning support as required
  • Process and track the RFI lifecycle, coordinating technical resolution with design engineers
  • Compile and report project metrics and risks to the project team and senior leadership
Optimize:
  • Identify cost-reduction and schedule-compression opportunities within assigned scope
  • Assist in developing scopes of work, equipment specifications, RFPs, and capital expenditure justifications
  • Support constructability reviews on electrical, mechanical, and architectural designs
Influence:
  • Coordinate with on-site stakeholders and support procurement in managing the vendor pool
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives to increase facility resiliency and operational performance
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for GCs and design consultants on assigned work
