Construction Auditor
Job Responsibilities
The general tasks of an auditor when performing financial, compliance, and operational audits are:
1. Understand and, if not yet available, document the process under review.
2. Identify and assess the risks involved and determine the mitigating controls.
3. Develop an adequate work plan to evaluate the adequacy and to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the control measures.
4. Gather and analyze data, transform those into information and draw conclusions.
5. Communicate and verify preliminary conclusions with the client; if necessary, support the client to develop appropriate remedies.
6. Report logically, clearly and focused on the (main) audit findings, the business impact, and the recommendations for improvements with respect to controls and/or process.
7. Periodical follow-up with the client on the actual implementation of the agreed actions items.
Job Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent work experience.
2. Over 10 years working experience and at least 7 years related experience in architectural engineering.
3. Deep involvement in large-scale construction project management in the aspects of planning, cost, schedule, contract, regulations compliance, quality, and safety.
4. Hands-on experience in construction procurement process including contractor evaluation, qualification, bidding, negotiation, supervision, acceptance, and disqualification.
5. Have a good understanding of construction contract terms including contract types, contract documents, progress appraisal, design change process, claim process, warranty, retention, etc.
6. Be able to maintain high standards of integrity, objectivity and fairness, to build and maintain client trust and confidence.
7. Have an analytical, logical, business oriented mindset, allowing to link cause and effect within and across the boundaries of the project under review.
8. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin (audit reports are written in English).
9. Prior internal or external auditing experiences or assignments with similar job nature (e.g., quality or ESH auditing) is a big plus.
10. Professional certificate such as Professional Civil Engineer or Certified Internal Auditor.
