Component Engineer- Turbine
A Snapshot of Your Day
Designs and develops core steam turbine components by creating engineering drawings, 3D models, and BOMs while ensuring performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness. Performs design validation through form, fit, and function analyses, resolves quality and manufacturing issues by addressing NCRs and deviations, and maintains comprehensive technical documentation to support product lifecycle and cross-functional collaboration.
How You'll Make an Impact (Component Engineer - Turbines, GS SV, India)
Core Component Design:
- Design and develop core steam turbine components (forged, casted & fabricated) with consideration for performance, durability, cost, and ease of manufacturing and service.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Engineering Analysis:
- Perform, form, fit and function studies to ensure design integrity and compatibility.
Issue Resolution:
- Evaluate non-conformance reports (NCRs) and define corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing deviations and field issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
Documentation & Communication:
- Maintain comprehensive design documentation.
- What You Bring
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience component design, in steam turbine design or similar rotating equipment is plus
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g., Siemens NX, AutoCAD) 2-5 years of experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and service engineering is a plus.
- Proficiency with PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter), SAP.
- Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, ISO, DIN).
