About the role

The Internal Communications Sr Specialist position, based in Mexico City, plays a pivotal role in planning and delivering clear, engaging, and consistent communications for Nu employees in Mexico. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in internal communications, executive communications, content development, employee engagement, and change communications. They will understand how to adapt messages for different employee audiences and channels, while working effectively across teams and cultures. They will be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

What you will do

  • Internal Communications Strategy: Develop and execute internal communication strategies and plans that connect company priorities, business updates, and organizational initiatives to employees in a clear, timely, and engaging way.
  • Employee Channels and Content: Create, edit, and publish content for internal channels, including slack posts, internal announcements, presentations, talking points, FAQs, and other employee-facing materials.
  • Executive Communications: Prepare executives and senior leaders for internal communications, including all-hands meetings, leadership messages, organizational updates, and employee Q&A sessions. Help leaders communicate with clarity, empathy, and consistency.
  • Change Communications: Design communication plans that support organizational, operational, cultural, and business changes. Translate complex information into accessible messages and equip leaders and teams to navigate change effectively.
  • Employee Engagement: Partner with Human Resources to develop initiatives and communication moments that strengthen employee connection, participation, understanding of company priorities, and alignment with Nu’s mission and values.
  • Internal Issues and Crisis Communications: Support timely, accurate, and coordinated communication with employees during sensitive situations, business disruptions, or organizational changes, in partnership with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong partnerships with People, Culture, Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and other internal teams to gather information, align messages, and ensure consistency across employee communications.
  • Editorial Planning and Governance: Manage editorial calendars, communication workflows, approvals, and message consistency across internal channels. Establish clear standards for tone, timing, accessibility, and audience relevance.
  • Measurement and Insights: Monitor the reach, engagement, and effectiveness of internal communication initiatives. Use employee feedback and communication data to improve content, channels, and future plans.
  • Cross-cultural Collaboration: Partner with communications colleagues and stakeholders across Nu’s markets to share best practices and adapt global messages to the Mexican employee context.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Solid experience in internal communications, ideally in the technology, financial, or consumer sectors.
  • Experience developing and executing internal communication plans with agility, accountability, and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting executive communications, employee engagement, change communications, or organizational communications.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex topics clear and relevant for different employee audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and collaboration skills, including the ability to work across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Experience handling sensitive or confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver high-quality communications in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbaland written communication skills in both Spanish and English.Work Setup
