Job Description
Overview:
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) helps Visa clients—including financial institutions and merchants—achieve measurable business results. Leveraging expertise in strategy, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operations, and economics, VCA addresses clients' most critical business challenges.
The North America Consulting Practice provides advisory and solution services to U.S. issuers. By combining deep expertise in banking, payments, and analytics, the team helps clients advance strategic priorities, accelerate growth, and improve profitability. VCA delivers a broad range of consulting solutions focused on areas such as profitability enhancement, growth strategy, customer experience, digital payments, and risk management.
We are seeking a Director to join the Community segment and help deliver high-impact consulting engagements for Visa clients across North America. This individual will be responsible for both selling consulting services and leading the delivery and implementation of solutions for U.S. financial institutions and issuing banks. The role focuses on driving sustainable, profitable growth while strengthening Visa's position as a trusted strategic partner.
Typical engagements include market expansion, profitability optimization, customer segmentation, growth strategy, product development, program launches, customer acquisition, lifecycle management, retention, and portfolio enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with internal Visa stakeholders to support strategic planning and business development initiatives.
- Manage a portfolio of target clients, build a consulting sales pipeline, and achieve revenue goals.
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Client Marketing teams, and VCA delivery teams on account planning and opportunity development.
- Identify and develop consulting opportunities with issuing banks and credit unions, contributing to successful deal closure.
- Work across Visa teams to design integrated solutions that address client growth priorities.
- Maintain accurate records for pricing, approvals, funding, legal reviews, and revenue recognition processes.
Consulting Leadership:
- Lead consulting engagements by defining project scope, timelines, resource requirements, and subject matter expert involvement in alignment with Statements of Work and Business Initiative Addenda.
- Develop frameworks, methodologies, recommendations, and solutions that address clients' most significant opportunities and challenges.
- Deliver actionable insights and strategies that help clients grow portfolios and deepen customer engagement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, risk, innovation, and New Flows, as well as global Community teams, to maximize the value of Visa's capabilities.
- Produce data-driven analyses and strategic recommendations that improve client performance and support growth objectives.
- Analyze large internal and industry datasets to uncover meaningful insights and business opportunities.
- Leverage AI and agentic workflows to increase efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness across consulting engagements.
Candidates for this role should be self-motivated, energized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to provide strategic thought leadership, diagnose business challenges, and deliver high-impact solutions that support client growth and performance. They must be able to build lasting, strategic relationships with internal and external clients across the Visa organization. The ideal candidate can manage multiple priorities, has demonstrated experience closing sales, and understands the debit and credit payments landscape, including the nuances of the Community client segment. This role is an independent contributor position, reporting to a Senior Director within VCA. Candidates already located in other Visa office locations may be considered with the right experience.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
- Relevant experience at large management consulting firm or US Financial Institution.
- Payments/Financial Services experience
- Strong Analytical/Quantitative Background
- Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance. Significant focus on impacting ROI.
- Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently
- Knowledge and understanding of banking operations and/ or payment schemes, including products & services, business systems and processes, marketing initiatives and card issuing experience
- Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills
- Team player
- Technology mindset, curious, up to date with digital trends and applications.
Information for US Applicants
For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $173,100.00 to $ 276,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Travel Requirements
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
