Job Description
As a Buyer (PLM - Product Lifecycle Management), you will help support new product introductions and ongoing product lifecycle activities by sourcing materials, components, and services for global projects. You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, to ensure material availability, manage supply risks, improve supplier performance, and support cost optimization initiatives. You will contribute to successful product launches while helping deliver our goals related to quality, cost, and delivery.
You will report to the PLM Sourcing Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support sourcing activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) projects.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers, including preparing RFQs and supporting supplier selection decisions through cost and risk analysis.
- Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and cost analysis to support project cost targets and productivity initiatives.
- Coordinate Supply Chain Material Readiness activities with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support product launch schedules.
- Monitor material availability, supplier performance, lead times, and supply risks, implementing mitigation actions as needed.
- Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring alignment with project requirements and supplier quotations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to support BOM reviews, engineering changes, and new part setup activities.
- Maintain accurate procurement data within SAP and other enterprise systems while supporting issue resolution and process improvements.
- Analyze procurement and supplier data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings and provide procurement updates to stakeholders.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Equivalent discipline.
- The ability to travel (5%) of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- 5+ years of procurement sourcing, or supply chain experience.
- Experience supporting NPI and PLM programs. Supplier negotiation, RFQ, and TCO analysis experience.
- SAP/ERP, MRP, and inventory management expertise.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
- Supplier performance and supply chain risk management experience.
- APICS/ASCM/ISM certification.
