As a Buyer within Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s Electrical Products (EP) business, you will help keep our Fort Worth, Texas manufacturing operation supplied and ready to deliver reliable electrical products to customers. Based on-site at our manufacturing facility, you will execute purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, expedite materials, and resolve purchasing exceptions that affect production. You will partner with the Senior Buyer, production, planning, receiving, and supplier teams while building your expertise in manufacturing purchasing and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
You will make an impact by:
- Executing purchase orders in SAP or other purchasing systems to maintain material availability for production.
- Following up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery commitments, backorders, and past-due orders to protect manufacturing schedules.
- Expediting materials and coordinating pull-ins, push-outs, cancellations, and revised delivery dates to resolve supply risks.
- Processing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) recommendations and purchasing requirements in alignment with established procedures and guidance from the Senior Buyer.
- Communicating material shortages, supplier updates, and recovery actions to production, planning, receiving, purchasing, and supplier teams.
- Resolving purchase order, receiving, and invoice discrepancies to improve transaction accuracy and supplier payment flow.
- Analyzing material and supplier information, identifying potential risks, and taking proactive action to support production continuity and customer delivery.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of direct purchasing, buying, or materials coordination experience, including placing and managing purchase orders.
- Experience following up with suppliers, tracking delivery commitments, expediting orders, or resolving purchase order issues.
- Experience using a purchasing, inventory, enterprise resource planning, or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, for purchasing analysis, reporting, and data management.
- Ability to analyze material information, identify supply risks, and communicate effective recovery actions.
- Demonstrated initiative, urgency, adaptability, and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site at the Siemens Smart Infrastructure manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience purchasing materials or supporting production in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP purchasing, inventory management, supplier scheduling, or MRP functionality.
- Experience managing pull-ins, push-outs, cancellations, exception messages, backorders, or supplier delivery changes.
- Experience supporting material availability, inventory accuracy, supplier performance, or purchasing process improvements.
- Experience in a distribution environment combined with a proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to adapt to manufacturing purchasing processes.
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in supply chain management, business, operations, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Engineering experience or technical knowledge related to electrical products, manufacturing processes, materials, or production operations.
- Association for Supply Chain Management Certified Supply Chain Professional (APICS CSCP) or Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification.
- A combination of education and directly related work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.

The pay range for this position is $54,968 - 92,768 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
