Business Operations Specialist, Inventory, Data & Automation

About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and execution-oriented Business Operations Specialist to support a fast-paced and complex technology services operation.
This position will own and continuously improve critical processes across inventory control, DSA management, system and process mapping, logistics operations, and operational reporting, while expanding the role's capabilities in data analytics, automation, and project management.
The successful candidate will act as a bridge between logistics operations, systems, data, and business stakeholders, transforming operational data into actionable insights, identifying process gaps, driving automation opportunities, and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.
The role requires a strong combination of hands-on logistics expertise and analytical/problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic technology environment.

This position is hybrid based in MTY or Lima PE

What You’ll Do

1. Inventory Control & Operational Governance

  • Own and support inventory control processes, ensuring inventory accuracy, system integrity, and operational compliance.
  • Monitor inventory performance, aging, discrepancies, adjustments, and reconciliation activities.
  • Identify inventory risks and drive corrective and preventive actions with operational teams.
  • Develop and maintain operational controls to reduce inventory discrepancies, losses, and process failures.
  • Support cycle counts, physical inventory activities, root-cause analysis, and inventory audits.
  • Partner with warehouse/FSL, transportation, planning, finance, and service teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Monitor key operational KPIs and proactively escalate risks requiring leadership attention.

2. System & Process Mapping

  • Own and maintain end-to-end system and process maps for critical logistics processes.
  • Document system interactions, transactions, data flows, handoffs, dependencies, and operational controls.
  • Identify system gaps, duplicate activities, manual processes, and control weaknesses.
  • Translate operational requirements into clear business and system requirements.
  • Support implementation and testing of system enhancements.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, process flows, work instructions, and operational documentation.

3. Data Analytics & Business Insights

  • Analyze large and complex operational datasets to identify trends, risks, exceptions, and performance opportunities.
  • Develop operational dashboards, scorecards, and management reports.
  • Establish metrics that provide visibility into areas such as: Inventory accuracy Inventory aging SLA performance Operational exceptions Logistics cycle time Transportation performance Reverse logistics Cost and productivity
  • Perform root-cause analysis using data and recommend corrective actions.
  • Translate detailed operational data into clear business insights and executive-level recommendations.
  • Build mechanisms for proactive exception identification rather than reactive issue management.

4. Automation & Digital Transformation

  • Identify repetitive/manual processes that can be simplified or automated.
  • Develop or coordinate automation solutions for operational reporting, reconciliations, exception management, and process controls.
  • Improve the reliability, scalability, and speed of operational reporting.
  • Partner with IT, system teams, and operational stakeholders to implement digital solutions.
  • Promote a continuous-improvement and automation-first mindset within the operation.
  • Track automation benefits, including hours saved, error reduction, improved controls, and productivity gains.

5. Project & Continuous Improvement Management

  • Lead small-to-medium operational improvement projects from problem identification through implementation and stabilization.
  • Develop project plans, milestones, owners, risks, and action trackers.
  • Coordinate activities across internal teams, logistics partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Use structured problem-solving methodologies to address complex operational issues.
  • Measure project benefits and ensure improvements are sustained after implementation.
  • Support new product, service, system, and logistics-process implementations.

6. Logistics Operations Expertise

  • Act as a subject-matter specialist for logistics processes covering forward and reverse logistics, warehousing/FSL operations, inventory, transportation, and service-parts operations.
  • Analyze operational bottlenecks and develop scalable solutions.
  • Support logistics-provider performance management and operational reviews.
  • Ensure effective coordination across warehouse, transportation, service delivery, and customer-facing operations.
  • Provide recommendations balancing service level, cost, operational risk, control, and customer experience

Requirements

Mandatory: (skills that the candidate needs to have to be successful in the role)

3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Services Operations

Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills, including KPI analysis, root-cause identification, and actionable insights

Experience in process improvement and project management, with the ability to independently drive initiatives through completion

Experience with process automation tools, such as Power Automate, RPA, or similar technologies

Nice to have (skills that are not mandatory)

Familiarity with AI/GenAI applications for operational efficiency and process improvement

Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or other data analytics/visualization tools

Experience with systems/process mapping and global or multi-country supply chain operations

Personal Qualifications:

* Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, as the working language.
