Business Manager, OU STU - SME&C Asia
Microsoft's SME&C Asia organisation is on a mission to accelerate AI-led growth across the Corporate segment, and the Solution/Specialist Team Unit (STU) sits at the centre of that ambition. We are hiring a Business Manager, Organization Unit STU — SME&C Asia, based in Singapore, reporting to the GM, SME&C Asia.
This is the operational engine-room role for the Regional STU. You will be the chief of staff and business rhythm owner for a specialist leadership team accountable for Azure net-new revenue, Copilot/NPSA growth, and the activation of frontier AI and Agentic AI plays across ~3,800 Corporate accounts in Asia. You will own the operating cadence — forecast and pipeline inspection, QBR and rhythm-of-business design, scorecard and performance reporting, headcount and budget governance, and the landing of WW and Area priorities into a coherent regional execution plan.
The role suits an operator who is equally comfortable in the numbers and in the room: someone who can build the insight, frame the choice for leadership, and then drive the follow-through across a matrixed, multi-subsidiary geography.
Responsibilities
Business rhythm & operating cadence
- Own the end-to-end ROB for the Regional STU: leadership team meetings, Regional STU Connect, monthly/quarterly business reviews, and connection into Area and WW cadences.
- Build the agenda, the pre-read and the decision log; drive accountability on actions between cycles.
Performance management & insight
- Own revenue, pipeline and scorecard reporting for the STU across Azure NNR, Copilot/NPSA and core Corporate priorities; translate MSX/Power BI data into a clear point of view on risk, gap and upside.
- Run forecast and pipeline inspection with the specialist leaders; surface early warning signals and drive corrective action.
Strategy & planning
- Support the annual and mid-year planning cycle — capacity, quota/target landing, coverage design and investment prioritisation for the STU.
- Land WW and Area strategic priorities (frontier and Agentic AI plays, solution-play activation) into an executable regional plan with clear owners and milestones.
Resource, budget & headcount governance
- Manage headcount planning, requisition tracking, org design changes and onboarding orchestration for the STU.
- Own budget and expense governance including team travel, events and readiness spend.
Cross-functional orchestration
- Partner across Finance, HR, Business Operations, Partner, Marketing, GPS and the subsidiary Sales Units to unblock execution and drive one-Microsoft alignment.
- Represent the GM in forums as delegated; prepare executive-ready narratives and briefing materials for regional and WW leadership.
Culture & team health
- Drive employee experience, MS Poll actions, readiness and required skilling completion, recognition and community-building across the STU.
Required / minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Information Technology or related field, AND 6+ years / significant experience in business management, sales operations, chief-of-staff, strategy or finance roles; OR equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience owning a business rhythm for a sales or technical sales organisation, including forecast/pipeline inspection and executive reporting.
- Demonstrated analytical capability with hands-on fluency in sales performance data and BI tooling (MSX, Power BI, Excel).
- Proven ability to influence and drive outcomes without direct authority across a complex, matrixed, multi-country organisation.
- Executive communication skills — able to build a crisp narrative and present with confidence to senior leaders.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Experience in the technology industry with working knowledge of cloud (Azure), AI/Copilot and modern-work solution areas.
- Prior experience in a specialist/technical sales, partner or SME&C-type segment organisation.
- Experience operating across Asia's diverse subsidiary landscape, including working across time zones and cultures.
- Experience with headcount, budget and org-design governance processes.
