When you order a package on Amazon, Last Mile Operations is in charge of the final delivery to your home. Central Operations' mandate is to centralize all tasks that can be centralized across Japan's 200+ last mile node network. Thanks to CO, tasks can be standardized, optimized and automated, resulting in better delivery experience for customers, at a lower cost. Strategically, the team allows JP Ops to grow by double digits every year, without increasing complexity and cost at the same rate.

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to drive the use of AI and automation in analytics, powering executive-level decision making for Central Operations. In this role you will define and implement scalable data solutions, diving deep into operational metrics across capacity planning, forecasting, and real-time delivery execution. You will apply both business and technical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and innovative environment where your work directly impacts millions of daily customer deliveries.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience working as a BIE in a technology company
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
