The Team

As a Support Specialist with the Bloomberg On-Site Support (BOS) team in San Francisco, you will provide high-touch IT support across Bloomberg client and office environments while helping deliver the technology and services our clients and colleagues rely on every day.

This is a visible, client-facing role for someone early in their IT career who has a strong technical foundation, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to learn quickly. We are looking for someone who is sharp, curious, technically capable, and able to communicate confidently with both clients and colleagues.

The role spans traditional PC and Mac support as well as the rapidly evolving mobile and endpoint environment. This includes smartphones, tablets, docking solutions, KVMs, peripherals, connectivity, device management, and Bloomberg’s continued move toward a more streamlined one-device experience.

The strongest candidate will understand that excellent IT support is not just about fixing technology. It is about understanding the customer, asking the right questions, taking ownership, communicating clearly, and using sound judgment to deliver the right solution.

The Role

Join our Bloomberg On-Site Support team based at Pier 3 in San Francisco, supporting our Pier 3 and 140 New Montgomery offices as well as Bloomberg clients throughout the region.

BOS combines client-facing IT support, Office IT, mobile and endpoint support, Bloomberg technology, implementation and Order Management activity, infrastructure support, and partnership with teams across the firm.

You will work with colleagues in Sales, News, Engineering, User Support, Philanthropy, Beta, and other business areas. The role requires someone who can comfortably move between troubleshooting technology, supporting a client, working with internal teams, and learning new systems and environments.

We are looking for someone with approximately 2 to 4 years of relevant experience who has strong potential to grow. This is an opportunity for someone building their career who wants broader exposure to IT, clients, infrastructure, mobile technology, and Bloomberg’s business.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Deliver high-touch technical support to Bloomberg clients and colleagues.
  • Troubleshoot Windows, Mac, iOS, iPadOS, Android, applications, hardware, and connectivity issues.
  • Support PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets, monitors, docking stations, KVMs, peripherals, and modern workplace technology.
  • Develop knowledge of MDM/UEM, mobile enrollment, device compliance, application delivery, and endpoint management.
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN, Bluetooth, USB-C, Thunderbolt, display, charging, and peripheral issues.
  • Support Bloomberg technology installations, upgrades, moves, implementations, and Order Management activity.
  • Apply working knowledge of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, and general networking concepts.
  • Take ownership of issues through resolution and keep customers informed throughout the process.
  • Partner effectively with Sales, Engineering, Facilities, Employee Technology Support, vendors, and other internal teams.
  • Work within an ITIL-based service environment including Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and how support is delivered.

You’ll need to have:

  • Two to four years of experience in IT Support, Desktop Support, Endpoint Support, Field Support, or a related technology role.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Mac environments.
  • Working knowledge of iOS, iPadOS, Android, and modern mobile technology.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN.
  • Exposure to docking stations, KVMs, monitors, USB-C/Thunderbolt, and workplace peripherals.
  • An understanding of MDM, endpoint management, or enterprise mobile support concepts.
  • Strong learning agility, curiosity, judgment, and the ability to absorb new technology quickly.
  • The confidence to engage professionally with clients and colleagues at different levels.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work collaboratively.

We’d love to see:

  • White-glove, executive, or client-facing support experience.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Apple Business Manager, Windows Autopilot, or similar endpoint tools.
  • Experience with device enrollment, provisioning, compliance, MFA, SSO, or endpoint security.
  • Exposure to networking equipment, cabling, IDF environments, or infrastructure support.
  • Experience with implementation, deployment, installation, or Order Management workflows.
  • ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, Apple, or entry-level Cisco certifications.
  • Interest in financial services or enterprise technology environments.
  • Examples of learning new technology quickly or improving an existing process.
