The Automotive Experience Platform team within Qualcomm’s automotive business unit builds solutions that showcase future technologies in the automotive industry. The team highlights upcoming automotive technologies from Qualcomm and its partners at global trade shows and in private demonstrations for key industry stakeholders. 

As a Software Engineer on the Automotive Experience Platform team, you will contribute to the design, development, modification, validation, and integration of software applications, embedded software, and specialized utility programs that demonstrate future automotive concepts. You will work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams across Qualcomm and partner organizations to support rapid prototyping, demo readiness, and software integration across diverse platforms. This role is well suited for someone who is hands-on, curious, adaptable, and comfortable learning quickly in a fast-paced concept-showcase environment.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong programming fundamentals in languages such as C/C++, Java, Kotlin, or Python. 

• Familiarity with Android, Linux, Windows, or QNX operating systems. 

• Understanding of basic software design, development, debugging, testing, and integration practices. 

• Familiarity with source version control, issue tracking, and collaborative software development workflows. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. 

• Experience with embedded software debugging tools is a plus. 

• Familiarity with automotive, IoT, Qt, or user experience technologies is a plus. 

• Interest in using AI-assisted tools as part of the software development life cycle is a plus. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design, development, modification, validation, and debugging of embedded, Android, edge, and utility software applications under the guidance of senior engineers. 

• Implement and integrate software features that support automotive concept demonstrations, prototype experiences, and customer or trade show showcases. 

• Work with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements, clarify technical expectations, and select appropriate implementation approaches for assigned tasks. 

• Support coding, unit testing, debugging, issue resolution, and integration activities to help ensure project deliverables meet specifications and schedules. 

• Use software tools and debugging techniques to analyze system behavior, identify issues, improve quality, and support performance optimization. 

• Collaborate with team members, platform owners, UI/UX teams, and partner teams to complete assigned work and support demo readiness. 

• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for software features, integration steps, issues, and validation results. 

Success in This Role:

A successful candidate will be curious, hands-on, adaptable, and eager to learn across multiple software platforms and automotive technologies. The candidate should be able to debug systematically, communicate clearly, work well with cross-functional teams, and contribute to high-visibility prototype and demonstration software in a fast-paced environment.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$99,500.00 - $149,300.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
