What you'll doYou will join the Content Delivery Platform team, working to deliver excellent in-flight connectivity services for our airline customers and passengers by optimizing video streaming experiences. The CDP team designs, implements, tests, and operates systems critical to customer experiences.
You will work with the rest of the team to develop new, creative solutions for applications that play a direct role in enhancing customer experience. Operating under a DevOps model, the team is responsible for supporting existing software and platforms used by commercial airline passengers every day.
This role is for an early career software engineer who is ready to grow quickly and flexible in the lines of technology for which they work.
The day-to-day- Designing and delivering features to help manage streaming content
- Work in an Agile environment within a talented 5-7 person scrum team
- Utilize established CI/CD pipeline and simple infrastructure delivery allowing you to more focus on design and coding of features
- Production support in a DevOps environment
Additional Details
- This position is site-based. Site‑based employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard five‑day work week. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.
- Education: Completion of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer
- Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience.
- Citizenship: This position requires a valid Work Permit or Visa for the country you would be located and working from.
- Additional:
- Demonstrated interest in generative AI and AI-assisted software development through coursework, projects, or research. Experience using Claude or similar AI development tools is a plus.
- Experience with Object Oriented Development
- Experience with a modern development workflow including version control, unit testing, and code reviews
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, and ability to work with remote team members across time zones
- Dedication to code quality, continuous automation, and operational excellence
- Experience using coding agents.
- Desire to learn any language and piece of the technical stack.
- Consistent and constant communication with team members to deliver features and grow into the engineer that you want to be.
$95,000.00 - $150,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $118,000.00- $177,000.00/ annually
