Associate Quality Operations Manager, Cell (m/w/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg

Description

Tesla is seeking an Associate Quality Operations Manager to provide operational leadership for Quality Operations in a high-volume cell manufacturing environment. This role leads Quality Operations shift teams and owns equipment calibration readiness, including inventory, availability, and on-time calibration of quality-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Quality Operations shift teams, including supervisors, engineers, technicians, and inspectors, to ensure high-quality products and processes.
• Own equipment calibration readiness for the cell shop, including equipment inventory, availability, status tracking, and on-time calibration to support production and quality operations.
• Develop and implement quality strategies that improve efficiency, reduce defects, and strengthen customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance to identify and resolve quality issues quickly.
• Ensure the team follows the reaction and containment process, including timely containment and effective corrective actions.
• Establish a clear structure within each Quality Operations team and ensure processes are standardized and clearly defined.
• Establish and maintain quality metrics and objectives spanning safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies
• Develop team members through training, coaching, and performance management to achieve operational excellence.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
• Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), audit preparation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure quality-related processes and procedures are followed, including inspection and testing, and that quality records are accurate and current.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in leadership, engineering, quality, or related fields, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Ability to drive cross-functional action, make decisions under pressure, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
• Strong engineering fundamentals, with experience in quality management systems and tools
• Experience with equipment calibration, metrology, or quality equipment management is a plus
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Fluent in English; German and additional languages are a plus
