Your New Role...

We are CNN, the world’s most essential and engaging source of digital news. We are in the midst of rapid transformation and need our next generation of innovators, makers, and dreamers who will lead and drive our growth. We aim to make the world a better, more connected place.

As an Associate Producer on the Homepage Programming team, you will help curate CNN's home surfaces, optimize content and send push alerts. This role requires strong news judgment and attention to detail. You'll help drive audience engagement, making decisions that affect how millions experience CNN.

We are a highly collaborative team that works across global editorial teams, distribution editors and audience partners to ensure our journalism is presented with clarity, creativity and impact. Strong communication skills are a must.

This role can be based in our Washington DC or Atlanta newsroom, reporting into a Senior Producer.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Curate and package around the day’s agenda across digital formats (live, video, articles, photo galleries, graphics, interactives) to inform, engage, and entertain US and international audiences
  • Exercise editorial and news judgment to ensure clear and engaging framing of CNN journalism
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, fairness, timeliness, and editorial integrity across all home surfaces and alerts.
  • Apply strong understanding of the daily news agenda, as well as appreciation for what draws and engages audiences beyond it
  • Work effectively in the CMS and publishing tools to ensure smooth and accurate updates
  • Interact with newsroom stakeholders around daily decision-making and homepage moves
  • Help optimize content in collaboration with senior programming producers, including crafting accurate, engaging headlines, suggesting improvements to visual treatments and running A/B tests.
  • Support effective planning and content preparation for CNN’s home surfaces, including helping to prepare for live, tentpole and event coverage
  • Draft and send alerts in collaboration with newsroom colleagues and senior producers
  • Participate in post-mortems and strategic conversations to shape programming approaches that balance editorial excellence, audience needs, and business goals

Your Qualifications & Experience...

  • 2+ years of experience in digital news and publishing
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high standards
  • Strong collaborative mindset and communication skills
  • Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of digital content across multiple formats, including video and live
  • Must be able to adapt to a 24/7 news environment. Early morning, evening and holiday work is required as part of the team rota.
  • Weekend work is expected as part of the normal weekly schedule.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $47,611.00 - $88,421.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
