Amazon’s Privacy Legal team is looking for a talented and motivated attorney to help us tackle complex privacy questions across all of the company’s business lines, with a particular focus on Amazon’s advertising business.

Responsibilities will include working closely with business leaders and legal teams to advise on all aspects of global privacy laws and regulations. You’ll help develop and implement privacy policies and procedures, monitor new US and global privacy laws and regulations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address privacy concerns and implement best practices. The role includes working directly with technology teams that are implementing privacy infrastructure for Amazon and its subsidiaries. And you’ll work closely with our public policy, public relations, and other teams to help explain our policies and practices to regulators and customers.

Key job responsibilities
Providing ongoing privacy counsel across Amazon Ads and other Amazon businesses, including data minimization, data sharing, data subject access rights, and the intersection of privacy and AI.

A day in the life
You will serve as a key privacy resource for various Ads and other legal and business teams, with a particular focus on helping those teams understand and meet their privacy obligations. You will help to define regulatory compliance strategy, support public policy on privacy-related developments, build out internal privacy resources, and counsel on new product initiatives. Our lawyers get to solve a constant flow of novel privacy challenges across a wide array of growing businesses.

About the team
The Amazon Privacy Legal team oversees, organizes and drives legal privacy initiatives across Amazon, and serves as subject matter expert on customer-related privacy issues across Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • 2+ years of legal experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
