Associate Buyer - Indirect Purchasing (m/w/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg

Tesla’s Indirect Procurement team is seeking a motivated and analytical individual to join us as an associate buyer. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, procurement operations, and digital transformation within a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. As an associate buyer, you will support the team across the full source-to-contract (S2C) lifecycle — from RFX (Request for Quotation/Proposal) to contract execution — while also contributing to the optimization of operational processes.We are particularly interested in candidates who have exposure to AI-driven workflows and a demonstrated interest in leveraging technology to improve procurement efficiency and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Run the end-to-end RFX process, including supplier mapping, scoping calls, and preparation of RFP/RFQ documents
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and clarify technical and commercial requirements
- Analyze supplier proposals, including cost modeling, value assessment, and risk evaluation
- Contribute to the development of data-driven business cases and recommendations
- Prepare stakeholder reviews, spend analysis, and S2C milestone meetings
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows through automation, data analytics, or AI-enabled tools
- Support the digitization and standardization of indirect procurement processes
- Work with cross-functional teams to enhance transparency, speed, and accuracy in procurement operations
Requirements
- A degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong analytical mindset with proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with procurement processes (e.g., sourcing, contracting, P2P) — previous internship experience is a plus
- Experience or demonstrated interest in AI workflows, data analysis, automation tools (e.g., Excel macros, Power BI, Python, AI platforms) is highly desirable
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
- Proactive, self-driven, and able to take ownership of tasks with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team spirit
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is an advantage
