Join us as an Assistant Commercial Manager working on our London Piccadilly Upgrade Programme. This is a hybrid role based in London or Goole, with an expectation to be in the office at least two days per week, alongside travel to other project locations as required.
You’ll make a difference by…
- Own the analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting of financial and operational performance, ensuring strong financial governance, effective cost control and clear insights for stakeholders.
- Drive best-in-class management accounting processes and procedures.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with the manufacturing team in Goole to support effective project delivery.
- Manage project hedging to minimise foreign exchange risk.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Customs and VAT, as well as Siemens policies and procedures.
- Support the commercial management of supplier contracts, protecting contractual rights and driving issues/claims through to resolution.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, ensuring adherence to internal policies and controls.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes using Copilot and other digital tools.
Your role profile may vary from time to time in accordance with business needs. Your annual objective setting with your line manager will outline any additional responsibilities required to meet business or individual development needs for the forthcoming financial year.
What you’ll need to succeed...
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge and question.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and build effective working relationships.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a busy project environment.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience with SAP (Spiridon or equivalent) would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with Copilot and other digital tools, with an interest in automation and continuous improvement.
Must Haves:
- CIMA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified, or working towards a relevant qualification.
