Overview

The ASEAN and Korea Channel Leader is an experienced sales and business leadership role responsible for accelerating Microsoft’s growth through the partner ecosystem across ASEAN and Korea.The role owns the channel strategy and drives sales execution, pipeline creation, customer acquisition, expansion, consumption, renewals and upsell through partners, ensuring the ecosystem is an integral part of the overall sales engine.This is a leadership-of-leaders position, responsible for an organization comprising both people managers and senior individual contributors. The Channel Leader is expected to scale through managers, develop proven leaders and empower strategic professionals to independently lead significant businesses, strategic partners and complex sales motions.Success requires the ability to operate simultaneously as a Sales Leader, People Leader and Ecosystem Leader, translating strategy into measurable customer and commercial outcomes.


Responsibilities

1. Lead the ASEAN and Korea Channel Business

Own the overall channel strategy, business performance and execution across ASEAN and Korea.Set clear sales priorities and translate regional ambitions into country, segment and partner execution plans.Drive sustainable growth through partners across cloud, AI, Copilot and the broader Microsoft portfolio.Identify growth opportunities and performance gaps using customer, partner, pipeline and business insights.Maintain clear accountability for execution, taking corrective action when performance is off plan.

2. Provide Strategic Sales Leadership

Operate as a proven Sales Leader, creating a high-performance sales culture centered on customer outcomes, pipeline, conversion and growth.Establish clear commercial priorities and ensure teams translate strategy into actionable sales motions.Drive disciplined pipeline management, including pipeline creation, progression, conversion and deal execution.Maintain appropriate executive focus on the largest opportunities, growth accelerators and business risks.Coach leaders and experienced sellers on deal strategy, partner orchestration and executive engagement.Connect partner capability and capacity directly to customer opportunities and sales priorities.Build a culture of sales excellence, rigor, speed and accountability, balancing short-term performance with sustainable long-term growth.

3. Lead Leaders and Develop a High-Performing Organization

Lead an organization comprising people managers and experienced individual contributors, with differentiated leadership appropriate to both populations.Act as a true manager of managers, setting direction and outcomes while empowering leaders to run their businesses and develop their teams.Coach managers to strengthen their own sales leadership, talent development and execution capabilities.Empower experienced individual contributors with significant ownership of strategic partners, businesses and transformational initiatives.Build a strategic succession pipeline and actively develop the next generation of sales and channel leaders.Create an inclusive, high-accountability culture where leaders and individuals understand what they own and are empowered to deliver.

4. Accelerate Partner-Led Sales Growth

Make the partner ecosystem an integrated part of the ASEAN and Korea sales engine.Drive partner-led customer acquisition, expansion, renewal and upsell.Accelerate priority motions across CSP, Azure, Security, AI and Copilot.Increase partner capability and capacity to sell, deploy and drive customer value from Microsoft solutions.Build repeatable sales motions that can scale across markets, customer segments and partners.Identify ecosystem coverage gaps and address them through development of existing partners, recruitment of new partners or evolution of business models.

5. Lead Strategic Partner Relationships

Serve as executive sponsor for the most important partner relationships across ASEAN and Korea.Engage CEOs and key partner executives on joint growth strategy, customer opportunity, investment, economics and execution.Build joint business plans with clear commercial outcomes, priorities and accountability.Challenge partners to increase their investment, capabilities, customer reach and execution against shared opportunities.Balance strategic relationship development with rigorous accountability for measurable business impact.

6. Orchestrate Customer and Partner Sales Execution

Partner closely with Corporate, SMB, Enterprise, Solution Area and Customer Success leadership to create one integrated sales motion.Ensure partners are incorporated early into account, territory and opportunity planning where they can accelerate customer outcomes.Connect the right partner capabilities to the right customer opportunities.Drive clarity of roles between direct and partner-led sales teams, reducing friction and increasing execution velocity.Mobilize the broader organization around strategic opportunities requiring cross-functional and cross-market orchestration.

7. Run the Business with Precision

Establish a rigorous operating rhythm across geographies, teams and strategic partners.Use data and business insights to determine where leadership intervention will have the greatest impact.Drive accountability around pipeline, conversion, customer acquisition, partner contribution, consumption and growth.Maintain clear inspection of business performance while avoiding unnecessary operational complexity.Differentiate between structural market challenges and execution gaps and act decisively on both.Ensure resources and leadership attention are concentrated on the highest-value opportunities.

Build credibility with C-suite partner executives, customers and key internal stakeholders.

Evolve the partner sales model for the AI and cloud era, evolving established practices and creating new paths to scale. 


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 10+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people management experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or an Advanced Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or a related field AND 12+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years people management experience.

The successful candidate should bring:

  • Significant experienced sales, channel, partner or commercial leadership experience in technology, cloud or a comparable complex industry.Demonstrated success owning and growing a substantial sales or commercial business.
  • Proven experience leading organizations through other people managers, as well as directly leading experienced individual contributors.
  • Proven track record of building pipeline, driving complex sales execution and delivering commercial outcomes across multiple markets.
  • Experience building or transforming partner ecosystems and indirect sales models.
  • Excel in understanding of partner economics, incentives, profitability and go-to-market models.
  • Executive-level communication, relationship building and influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to operate successfully across diverse cultures, markets and levels of business maturity.
  • Good analytical and commercial judgment coupled with the ability to make decisions and execute with speed.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leaders, build succession and create high-performing, inclusive organizations.
