The Role
Are you passionate about guiding artistic visions and shaping visual experiences? As the Art Lead for our Live Service Team at Next Games, you will champion visual excellence across our expanding game portfolio. In this role, you will protect and define quality standards, mentor creative partners, and safeguard iconic brand identities to ensure our games continue to captivate millions of players worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve comprehensive style guides across all titles under the Live Service Team portfolio to establish and maintain a high visual quality bar.
- Review outsourced assets and game releases to identify specification deviations and maintain style guide compliance before shipping.
- Monitor visual consistency across the entire portfolio, safeguarding broader studio brand and franchise identities as titles evolve over time.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external outsourcing and co-development partners on visual execution across all live titles.
- Provide external teams with clear, structured, and actionable feedback grounded in style guides and technical specifications.
- Track vendor visual performance over time to identify trends and inform studio vendor evaluation processes.
- Maintain positive vendor relationships while upholding the visual quality bar for all deliverables.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Broad-based understanding and practical proficiency in concept art, 3D art, and visual QA processes.
- Working knowledge of technical asset specifications (poly counts, texture compression, rigging constraints) and their impact on visual quality.
- Working fluency in asset review and project management workflows to deliver clear, directly actionable critique under deadlines.
- Effective written communication skills with an ability to deliver constructive feedback to internal and external partners.
- Strong collaborative mindset with an ability to advise teams effectively and escalate critical decisions when appropriate.
- Proven track record of maintaining visual quality standards across live-service titles or a portfolio of games over time.
- Demonstrated success managing and guiding external art outsourcing vendors directly.
- Experience building and sustaining vendor relationships while consistently upholding product quality standards.
Nice-to-Have / Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with licensed IP properties where maintaining high fidelity to a source franchise is required.
