Introduction
We are looking for a talented, motivated Applications Engineer who is excited to grow with our team while helping us build an innovative software performance tuning application for MIPS RISC-V microprocessors. In this role, you will support customers and business development teams grow the use cases and adoption of our pre-silicon, pre-rtl simulation solution. You will also have opportunities to work directly with customers during onboarding, support, and troubleshooting, with guidance from experienced engineers.
We are building a very exciting solution that will allow our customers to accurately tune software performance long before hardware becomes available by using an advanced hybrid simulation tool that combines instruction set simulation with microarchitectural models of microprocessor pipelines and advanced visualization tools. Our solution does not end there. We will also take advantage of the advanced debug and trace capabilities in the hardware to further tune software once the hardware is available in FPGA or silicon.

Your Job
Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of application features that address customer needs, improve workflows, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Collaborate with engineers, cross-functional teams, and customers to understand requirements and identify opportunities to improve the application’s capabilities.
Learn and apply testing, debugging, and performance analysis techniques to help ensure reliability, performance, and compatibility.
Participate in code reviews, learn from feedback, and contribute constructive ideas to improve code quality and team practices.
Support customer adoption of the tools and platform, integrating with their software development flows.
Create demos and support product marketing teams evangelize solution.
Use the tools as a customer and champion for new features and use cases that can be unlocked.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related equivalent.
Strong programming fundamentals and hands-on experience supporting customers, open-source contributions, or professional development teams work.
Interest in developer tools, IDEs, application frameworks, extensions, plugins, or simulation solutions.
Curiosity about computer architecture, RISC-V, simulation, performance tuning, or low-level software systems.
Strong problem-solving skills, persistence, and a willingness to troubleshoot unfamiliar technical challenges.
Ability to learn new frameworks, APIs, architectures, and engineering best practices quickly.
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Passion for learning, building useful tools, and creating software that helps developers be more productive.
