Description and Requirements

Lenovo is a global leader in AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, and data centre technologies, helping customers build and scale next-generation accelerated computing environments. As part of the Lenovo Infrastructure Deployment Services (LIDS) team, you will support the validation, benchmarking, and optimisation of large-scale HPC and AI solutions for some of Lenovo's most strategic global customers.

In this role, you will execute performance testing, analyse benchmark results, and provide optimisation recommendations across cutting-edge HPC and AI environments, working closely with customers, architects, consultants, and engineering teams. You will be part of a global team supporting EMEA and worldwide projects and will report directly to the Global HPC Delivery Leader.

What You Will Do:

• Validate, benchmark, and optimize large-scale HPC and AI platforms, ensuring systems meet performance targets, customer expectations, and acceptance criteria.
• Design and execute benchmarking and performance test plans across compute, storage, networking, GPUs, and AI workloads, then analyze and present results.
• Profile applications, identify performance bottlenecks, and provide practical optimization recommendations for HPC, AI, and GPU-accelerated environments.
• Work with industry-standard HPC benchmarks, AI training and inference workloads, MPI-based applications, storage testing tools, and large-scale cluster validation processes.
• Partner closely with customers, solution architects, technical consultants, delivery teams, and technology partners to support successful solution deployment and operational readiness.
• Contribute to the development of benchmarking methodologies, best practices, technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that strengthen Lenovo’s global HPC and AI capabilities.

What You Will Bring: 

• Strong experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) environments, including cluster architectures, Linux administration, job scheduling, and distributed computing.
• Proven ability to execute, analyse, and optimise HPC benchmarks and performance validation tests across compute, storage, and networking infrastructure.
• Solid knowledge of parallel computing technologies, including MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, NCCL, and GPU-accelerated applications.
• Experience benchmarking and tuning scientific, engineering, AI, and data analytics workloads on large-scale HPC platforms.
• Strong understanding of NVIDIA GPU technologies and architectures, including H100, H200, B200, and GB200/GB300.
• Hands-on experience with high-performance networking technologies such as InfiniBand and RoCEv2.
• Expertise with industry-standard benchmark suites including HPL, HPL-MxP, HPCG, IO500, MLPerf, STREAM, FIO, IOR, and NCCL tests.
• Knowledge of Top500, Green500, customer acceptance testing methodologies, and HPC performance benchmarking best practices.
• Experience working with HPC storage solutions such as Lustre, GPFS (IBM Storage Scale), BeeGFS, VAST, WEKA, or similar parallel file systems.
• Strong Linux skills across RHEL, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu, combined with shell scripting for automation, benchmark execution, and performance analysis.
• Ability to identify performance bottlenecks, deliver optimisation recommendations, and create customer-facing benchmark reports, technical documentation, and performance studies.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work directly with customers, architects, and engineering teams; experience with AI infrastructure benchmarking, LLMs, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Kubernetes, OpenShift, cloud HPC (Azure/AWS/GCP), Python automation, GPU profiling tools, and enterprise AI acceptance testing is highly desirable.
