The Apple Card / Apple Cash team focuses on first-party financial service offerings for Apple Pay. Focus areas are consumer credit cards, P2P money transfer, stored value, and other consumer financial products.
Core responsibilities for this role are to work with the Apple Card and Apple Cash product teams to develop long-term strategy, assess new growth opportunities, manage and coordinate large initiatives or investigations, and drive business planning. Projects might also include other areas within Wallets, Payments, and Commerce. The role will include market analysis, competitive landscape assessments, and partnership evaluations. The person will engage and partner with existing leaders across the product team and Apple more broadly.

We are looking for an experienced payments strategy professional to help shape the future of our financial products. In this role, you will move beyond analysis to drive strategic recommendations that directly influence our product roadmap and long-term growth. You will be responsible for identifying new growth opportunities, developing robust business cases, and leading key initiatives from concept to execution. As an influential member of our multi-functional teams, you will help guide strategic discussions and serve as a thought leader for the Apple Card and Apple Cash product areas, with opportunities to also engage on topics across Wallets, Payments, and Commerce. This role requires a strategic thinker who can blend analytical rigor with a strong business sense, formulate clear and compelling recommendations, and drive projects forward in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a high-impact role offering an outstanding opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the business, drive and influence decisions impacting its long-term trajectory, and advise leadership across Apple Pay teams globally.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product, Business Development, and Data Science teams to assess the strategic value of new product constructs, commercial models, and potential partnerships.
- Own complex financial modeling and analysis to support and guide leadership on critical investment and product decisions.
- Synthesize competitive intelligence, market research, and data analysis into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Coordinate strategic projects and initiatives, from initial opportunity sizing and business case development to defining go-to-market strategy and measuring performance.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to cross-functional teams, providing thought leadership and analytical support to drive alignment and successful execution of priorities.
- Prepare and present findings and recommendations to senior leaders and key stakeholders across the organization to influence the product and business roadmap.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Consulting, Investment Banking, Corporate Strategy, Strategic Finance, or a similar strategy and planning function in a global, fast-paced organization.
- Understanding of consumer payments capabilities, business models, and international market dynamics.
- Experience in financial and business case modeling, particularly in the payments industry, with the ability to build and defend sophisticated models that support strategic planning and investment.
- Adept at navigating ambiguity and structuring open-ended questions into clear, actionable frameworks, with a proactive mindset and high degree of ownership to drive projects independently.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and articulate complex strategic concepts clearly to senior leadership and diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field from a top-tier institution or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in P2P payments or credit cards
- Understanding of major payment systems outside the U.S.
- Understanding of stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain technology
- Experience working with Product and Engineering teams
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree
